The Missing Pages

Chapter 16

Maya got to the woods and Amy was already there. The same spot where Ciara's body was found. Amy turns around and sighs. 

"There you are! Where have you been?" 

"In the woods... Why didn't you look around instead of expecting me to be here?" Maya asks.

"I wasn't expecting anything." She replies. 

"3 years we've known each other. You helped me change my life. You let me stay with you when I had nothing to give back in return. You helped me look for my first job and you supported me through the rough times regarding my mother. You were my best friend."

"Maya I am still your best friend." Amy steps closer. 

"The best friend that sleeps with my boyfriend! She yells, tears falling down her face. 

Amy doesn't move this time. She doesn't say a word. 

"What happened on the October 15th?" 

"I don't know what you're talking about." Amy shakes her head.

"Don't lie to me Amy! You know exactly what happened. I found the  torn pages in your room and your internet history... you make me sick!"

Suddenly Amy begins to laugh hysterically.  

"Oh Maya." She sighs.

Maya frowns.

"I got what I want in the end right? I got Jake." She smiles.

"Why would you do this to me Amy...what have I ever done to deserve this!"

"Maya I'm sorry but I'm in love with him."

"You killed an innocent girl!"

"It had to be done." She shrugs.

"Did Jake know about this?" Maya asks.

"Yes he knew but he wasn't a part of it. That night I spiked your drink because I wanted to spend time with Jake and I didn't want you to bother us. You passed out in the car as soon as we got to the parking lot. That bitch Ciara decided to turn up. She was going to tell you everything." Amy suddenly laughs.

"You know what the funny thing was?  She saw you passed out in the car and she asked me if I killed you!"  She laughs again as she recalls what had happened.

"That's when the idea came up. She walked passed me to open the passenger seat. I walked towards the boot of my car, took out an old cricket bad and hit the back of her head. I stopped until she was completely frozen. Then another idea came... I spread the blood all over your unconscious body to make it seem like you did it. So you can go to jail and I can spend my life with Jake."

Maya was in tears.
"You're a sick bitch do you know that?"

"Maya if I was really that sick I could have just killed you too but you're my best friend. I put her body  in the  boot  and I took you back to the to the room. I left her at Slayton moor. I was thinking about setting her on fire but I wasn't that mean, I do have a heart so I went against it. I took her keys and went back to the apartment. That's where I found that silly little diary of hers. She was such a freak! I wrote about you to make it seem like you hated her."

"But I didn't! I didn't even fucking know her." Maya yells.

"I couldn't go back into our room. I didn't want to be there when you woke up so I drove up to see Jake. I told him everything and he was obviously shocked and disgusted by what I had done. He's just too sweet but I did what I had to do. I know he still loves you Maya but the love will fade. He didn't know about the blood on your clothes but I threatened him. I told him that I have valid proof to frame you for the murder. He didn't want that to happen. So I said he has less than two weeks to break up with you. It was that or the other." Amy sighs.

"He's just too sweet. You were lucky to have had such a caring boyfriend. But good things come to an end right?"

Maya gains the courage to walk up to Amy and look her in the eyes.

"You're right Amy, good things do come to an end. I hope you enjoyed your little moments with Jake because it's over now."

Amy rolls her eyes but then she notices the lights. Police officers step out of the darkness and all of a sudden Amy looks afraid.

"How can you do this!" She screams as they handcuff her.

"I have proof she killed Ciara!! I have proof!" She yells as they take her away.

Maya walks out of the woods and she spots Katie, Sebastian and her dad.

Her dad strides over to her and embraces her.

"You did great monkey." 

A red car pulls up. Maya knew exactly who this car belongs to. Jake walks out of the car and towards Maya.

"Maya I can explain just please hear me out."

"I think you've caused enough damage." Sebastian says from behind Maya. Seeing Jake makes Maya cry even more. She can't believe she trusted these people. She turns around and bumps straight into Sebastian's chest. She looks up at him and he hugs her. It instantly makes her feel better.

"It's okay Maya... it's over."
