Unique Mate

*Adrian's POV*

My breath was caught in my throat. The words racked my brain. Mark her. Without her consent. The pain that would cause her would be unbearable, and to know that I caused that. I wouldn't be able to live with myself. But if I don't mark her she could die. UGH! I was being pulled 2 different ways and I had limited time to make a choice. I was snapped out of my thoughts when Dr.Holeson tapped on my shoulder .

" Alpha, you need to make a decision quickly. Doctors are struggling to keep her stable." He said worry evident in his eyes. I'd rather have Ashley be alive and hate me then die and hate me. I nodded towards him and he led me to the emergency room. We went down a series of hallways and I could smell Ashley's scent nearby. It was faint but still there.

 We finally made it to her room and I could see different nurses and doctors around her. She was hooked into so many machines all for a different purpose. I walk into the room and was instantly surrounded by her scent, making my wolf calm down. Her face was a deathly pale white and the only thing that let you know she was alive was the way her chest went up and down. I walked over to her and grabbed her hand in my own. She was cold.

I look back to the doctor who was in the doorway. He gave me a slight nod and I looked back to Ashley. I put her head in my arms and tilted it so I had access to her neck. I leaned down and kissed her neck slightly. I extended my cinians and bit her neck. I hear her whimper in pain but the give a tiny moan. I pull back and look at me mark form on her neck. My wolf felt proud to see our mate wear our mark, now every male you'd know she's ours.

Slowly, I see the color coming back to her skin slowly but surely. I give a long breath of relieve, she was going to be ok. I turn to the doctor and see the relieved look on his face. I take pride in my pack. They don't even know their Luna but they still treat her with the respect they show me.

" Now that you've marked her her wolf would already accepted it and started healing her. The only thing that could go bad now is that her vampire won't let her wolf heal her because her mate cheated on her she doesn't want to watch as you two are happy while she is left mateless." He said with a sad look, while looking at his clipboard. My heart sunk.

" Is there any way to prevent that from happening?" I ask, standing up.

" Her vampires mate would have to mark her." He said, my wolf let out a viscous growl.

'SHE'S MINE AND ONLY MINE!'  My wolf screams in my head. I had to hold back my own growl.

" Any other way?" I ask through clenched teeth.

" No, I'm sorry Alpha." He says and bows before he walked out of the room, leaving me alone with my mate. I could see her skin going back to a pale color. My worry levels raised significantly. I ran out of the room. I make my way to Conner's room.

I swing the door open and find him with his face in a pillow and he was rocking back, sitting criss cross. He was sobbing uncontrollably. His head snaps up when he hears me enter the room, his face was red and eyes were puffy.

" Is she ok? Is she alive? Is she healing? Why can't I feel our bond? What's her condition? Is she dead?" He shot questions at me. The worry on his face and in his voice was evident.

" She won't be ok. She is alive. She is not really healing. She's dying and the doctors are having a hard time keeping her stable." I answered all of his questions. I see blood, drain from his face.

" Is there anything they can do?" He asked quickly. I nodded but didn't want to say what needed to be done. It hurt me too much.

" You need to mark her." I say as clearly as I can through clenched teeth. I see the blood leave his face to where it was as white as Ashley's. Well maybe not as white but pretty dang close to it. He knew the consequences and he didn't want to hurt Ash but, like me he had to choose to mark her. If he chose not to I would have forced him too. Anything to keep my angel ok.

We make our way to Ashley's hospital room, me leading the way. i could hear Conner suck in a sharp breath when he sees Ashley's state when we walk through the doors of Ashley's room. In all honestly Ashley's looked a bit better than before but still not in the best state. I walked to the right side of Ashley's bed, Conner walking to her other side.

I watch his every move, the way his eyes gazed over as fresh tears wanted to fall but he held them back. The way he wouldn't relax, his every muscle was tense. How he looked scared to touch Ashley, like if he touched her she would break like glass. How he just looked so hurt.

He leans down and turns Ashley's head gently to the left, the opposite side of my mark. He kisses her neck making my wolf want to rip his head off. I let out a warning growl making him look over to me. He looks into my eyes and shrinks back making my wolf proud. He turns his attention back to Ashley who laid motionless on the bed. Conner bend down and extends his fangs, plunging them into Ashley's neck right wear her neck meets her shoulder. 

Ashley gives a silent but audible whimper making me want to hold her close to me and comfort her, but I hold back. Conner releases her neck and licks away the blood. Ashley then gives a tiny moan making me jealous knowing that I didn't do that to her.

She stirrs in her sleep, twisting and turning. Sweat formed on her head and the color came back to her skin making me and my wolf calmer. Her tist and truns became more violent making me rise from my seat. I quickly make my way towards her.Her breath had quicken and she was shaking uncontrollably.

This went on for about 5 to 10 minutes and then it all stopped and Ashley was again, motionless. The color has come back to her skin, making me and my wolf relax. Conner and I wait patiently for her to wake up.

" This is all my fault." Conner and I say at the same time while still looking at Ashley's unmoving figure. I look to him and he looks to me. Our eyes both held guilt. Just then we hear a gasp and whip our heads around to the sound.

Ashley was awake.
