Unique Mate

~ Conner's POV ~

My vampire hisses as he sees Adrian grab Ashley's hand. I was so happy when I found out that Ashley was my mate I always hoped that she was. But as soon as I find out Adrian has to ruin it. The one thing that really has me confused is why Adrian so protective of Ashley I mean she is my mate. Does he have a mate? All these questions were running through my mind that I didn't know that we made it to the pack house. It was huge but my dads castle was twice as big.

We all made our way inside the pack house, went to the living room, and sat down on the comfy leather couches. We all looked at Ashley and she had fear in her eyes most likely from all the people staring at her. She hates it, it makes her feel like she had do something perfect and if she messed up they would hurt her or something. The thought of anyone hurting Ash makes my blood boil. I mad a promise to her when I fist met her in the wood that I would always protect her and always be there for her. I love more than my own family. Since the moment I laid eyes on her I loved her.

* Flashback *

" Dad can I go out for a walk, please." I ask my father. He looked down at me and smiled down at me.

" Sure, kiddo just stay in the lands ok." He said ruffling my hair making me giggle.

" Conner also be careful and here is a sandwich in case you get hungry." My mom said to me, handing my a ham and cheese sandwich in a ziplock bag. I took it from her and hugged her waist.

" Thanks mom, I'll be safe." I said running out of the kitchen and out the door. After I walked for about 5 minutes I heard something. I stopped in my tracks and listened carefully. It was someone crying. Me being the curious kid I am I ran to the sound. I ended up at the edge of the territory and started looking around. Finally I found the most beautiful girl I have ever seen sitting on the ground with her knees to her chest and her arms around her knees crying. I sat down beside her and tapped her. She flinched away from me, falling in dirt.

" Hey its ok I'm not going to hurt you I promise. What wrong? Why are you crying and out here all alone?" I ask worried feeling an attachment to this girl.

" T-the vampire k-king killed m-my p-p-parents." She stuttered and broke down again. I gasp. My dad killed her parents. I felt sorry for this girl.

" Whats your name, love?"I ask quietly making sure not to startle her even more.

" A-ashley." She said whipping her tears. " Whats your name." She asked me this time making me smile. She smiled back. Oh my jellybeans she had a gorgeous smile.

" I'm Conner." I said. I love her so much already. We both giggled when we heard her stomach grumble obviously hungry.

" You hungry?" I asked with a playful smirk. She looked at her stomach and back at me with a ' Are you serious' look.

" My stomach just grumbled obviously. Its not just saying hi to you." She snapped in a playful way. I laughed and grabbed my sandwich.

" Here." I said holding out my sandwich for her.

" No, I'm not taking your sandwich its yours." She said.

" Well you need it more than I do so please take it." I said. She looked at me with blood red eyes and smiled. She took my sandwich and ate it. When she was done I took the bag and put it in my pocket. Hours passed and we just played, talked, and she told me how my dad killed her parents in front of her and through her off his lands. I hate my dad for what he did to her. She did not deserve it.

When it was time for me to go home I kissed her cheek and said my goodbyes and told her I would come back tomorrow. When I got home my mom was setting the table for dinner.

" Hey mom I'm home." I said walking in the kitchen. She smiled at me.

" Hey baby, why don't you get the knifes and forks and help me set the table." My dad came in minutes later and my vampire was hissing at him but I was just glaring him thinking of what Ash told me.

" Hey son how was your walk." He ask me smiling while giving my mom a kiss. I didn't answer I just kept doing what I was doing.

" Hey you ok kiddo?" He asked putting a hand on my shoulder. I still didn't answer afraid that something will slip out.

" Mom I'm gonna skip dinner, I'm tired I gonna head to bed." I said avoiding eye contact with my dad.

" Oh, ok honey love you night." She said with confused written all over her face.

" Love you too, See you in the morning." I said smiling at her and gave her a kiss on the cheek and walked to the door.

" Hey wheres my kiss goodnight?" My dad said in a playful tone but I just walk out. I stopped when heard my ask my mom something.

" What was that about?" I heard my mom ask my dad.

" I don't know it was as if he didn't see me at all." My dad said and I could hear his voice crack. Good.

" I don't know why but I think my own son hates me." Yup.

" No he doesn't honey your over reacting." My mom said.

" Yeah how would you react to your kid not looking at you, or not talking to you." My dad said sounding like he was going to cry.

" Honey, try talking with him tomorrow." My mom said.

" I'm a horrible dad aren't I?" My dad asks.

" No your not babe. Your a wonderful dad and an amazing mate." She wouldn't say that if she knew what he did to a innocent 10 year old girl.

" Your the best mate and wife a guy could ever ask for babe." I heard my dad say. I finally walk upstairs and walk to my room after changing. As I lay in my bed I think of Ash. Her blonde hair. Her red eyes. Her cute smile. Her angle like laugh. I soon fall asleep praying to the Moon Godess that one day she'll make Ash my mate.
