New York City was all hustle and bustle this time of year. Families were scrambling to catch a plane out of state to go be with relatives for Christmas before the blizzard hit, and shoppers were in and out of every department store buying gifts for their loved ones.

(Y/n) (l/n) had just moved to New York City, so she didn't know how bad it would be to try and get around on the streets. Traffic was awful, and the sidewalks were crowded with shoppers and cat callers. She was annoyed to say the least.

As she hastily walked through the damp streets, trying not to attract attention, she noticed several newspapers scattered on the ground. Each of them were printed with the face of a man labeled as 'Black Jacket'.

She bent down to pick one of the soggy papers up from the ground and gazed at it, grazing over the text. At the very top it said 'BLACK JACKET SAVES THE DAY AGAIN!' And it went on to describe how a seemingly super human being saved a building from being destroyed by an evil force.

She wasn't gonna lie, the man shown in the paper was oddly appealing. The picture was in black and white, and smudged due to the rain, but she could see that he wore a party mask of some sort and had dyed hair. The part of his face that wasn't covered was handsome to (y/n). He had thin lips with a relatively small chin.

However, the article confused (y/n). Superheroes didn't exist... did they? How could they? I was improbable. This newspaper was probably a joke paper made by a bunch of teens. Though, the thought of a superhero actually existing stayed at the back of her mind. She had heard talk of this elusive 'Black Jacket' figure. People around the city loved to talk this person up.

She kept up her journey back to her apartment, pushing the thoughts away. She was tired from job hunting and needed to sleep. She could barely think straight.

She came to a cross section while the cars were slowing down to stop, but she wasn't paying attention. Before she could realize it, a car went straight for her and people yelled for her to move. At the last moment she was swiped up and pulled away. Her mind was completely blank. She had no idea what had just happened.

Her head was spinning, everything was blurry, and all sound was muffled. She was in shock. Things slowly started coming in to focus. There was a man in front of her, holding her and rushing out words. She could make out a big bright red blob and a smaller yellow blob moving in sync. As it came into focus, she could make out his face and small shapes on a yellow mask. Wait, was that the guy from the paper?

"-ight?" His words became clearer as he spoke but that was all (y/n) could make out.

She blinked a few times, trying harder to focus. "W-hat?"

He chuckled lightly. "Are you alright?" He repeated. He had a firm grip on the small girls waist, keeping her from collapsing. She could hear things clearly now, and she was enchanted by her saviors voice. It was high pitched for a man, but all the same it was smooth, with a thick jersey accent overlaying his words.

"I-uh, y-yeah. Thank you." (Y/n) said, frazzled.

"Don't mention it, sugar. It's what I do." The man who she could now fully see smiled, showing off his small teeth.

"You're the guy in the paper." (Y/n) remarked.

The man chuckled again. "Yeah, that's me. I make headlines a lot much to my dismay."

"Wait wait, so you actually are super human?"

"Honey, you must be new here. Yes, I am super human. I am known by the media as Black Jacket, but in all honesty I hate that name."

(Y/n) nodded slowly, taking it in. "O-kay."

"Well, it's always nice to meet someone who doesn't fawn over you or fan over you like you're God. Who might you be, Miss..?"

"(Y/n)(L/n). Just moved here from St. Louis. Nice to meet you too." The two shook hands cheerily. "Good to meet a 'superhero' who isn't conceited like in stories."

"Conceited? Hm, what stories have you been reading?" He laughed a bit, and it had a slight effect on (y/n)'s heart movements. "Anyway, you seem tired. Would you like a ride home?" He offered. His eyebrows that were hidden behind his mask raised up above it.

"Uh, sure. I'll tell you where I live." She trusted this new man. He had saved her life after all.

Her hero smiled brightly and offered to let her on his back. She obliged, latching her arms around his neck. "Hold on, sugar." And with that he took off flying.

(Y/n) had never experienced anything like this before. Looking down on her new home, she felt small. New York was big compared to St. Louis, and a lot less attractive in the architecture department.

The moment ended all too soon when her masked man let her down on the roof of her building. "So, ill be seeing you around Miss (L/n)?"

"You bet." She smiled back, heading towards the door. "But it'll hopefully be under better circumstances. Thank you again, for saving my life. I could never repay you enough."

The young hero blushed under his mask. Never before had see met such a sweet, beautiful girl. Not to mention, she originally had no idea who he was. All the better, because he was getting tired of getting the same reaction from civilians. "Don't mention it. You've repaid me by simply being you."

It was the girls turn to blush now. "Good bye for now, Black Jacket." She chuckled saying his name. "Have a good rest of your day." She smiled, heading inside.

After she closed the door, Gerard leaped up into the air and blasted away happily. For the first time in years, he felt attracted to a human, and there was a big possibility that she was attracted to him as well.

He couldn't wait to tell Mikey about his day.
