Twenty Five

I carried the plate out to Rob as he grilled but when I looked around, I saw all our friends.

"Happy birthday, Lina." I thanked the bacon named man then went to Zak and he pulled me to sit on his lap.

"How's your shoulder?" Ashley asked and I looked down at it, barely seeing the scar left behind, then shrugged.

"Doesn't hurt anymore."

"Good." Zak laughed and I rolled my eyes.

"So, you're grandma defended you against your aunt?" Bill Chapel, one of their lead inventorss, asked and I nodded.

"I never once thought my grandma Ingrid would ever defend me but she proved me wrong." I shrugged then Bill laughed.

"Yeah, seems that way." He smiled then someone rang the doorbell and I groaned.

"I don't want to go get it."

"Then let me." Aaron smiled and I thanked him as he went to answer the door. When he came back, I noticed a familiar face behind him and sat up as the guys glared.

"Kyle-"

"Can we talk?" He asked and I set my beer down then stood.

"You can talk out here, I'm not going-" Then he had a gun and I froze.

"I said, can we talk?"

"Okay, man, calm down." Nic said and Kyle glared at him.

"This is between her and I, stay out of th-"

"Kyle!" I snapped and he looked at me.

"Don't talk to them. Like you said, this is between us. You want to talk, we'll talk." I smiled and walked towards him.

"Lina-"

"Shut up, Zak." I growled and grabbed Kyle's wrist, the one holding the gun.

"Kyle, let's get out of here. Just you and I, forget them." He looked at me and smiled some then I laughed.

"To think I ever cared about them. Come on, give me this and we'll go, alright?" He nodded and gave me the gun then I kneed him between the legs and punched his face, knocking him to the ground.

"Evelina!" Nic took the gun as Zak hugged me but I was terrified, I didn't know how that would turn out.

"I'm calling the cops." Aaron said and I nodded as Kyle laid on the ground, glaring up at me with blood spilling from his nose.

"You did the right thing. You played into his fantasy and saved your friends and yourself." I nodded as Kyle sat in the cop car then they left and we just relaxed in the living room.

"Well, this is a birthday I won't forget." Everyone laughed but I stretched, my back popping.

"I think I'm gonna need some serious help after this." Zak whispered and I laughed.

"You know I didn't mean that-"

"Trust me, I know that. When you're actually serious, you get this look in your eye that basically means stand down or endure your wrath." That made the guys eagerly agree as everyone else laughed.

"Didn't know I was that bad." I laughed then Zak kissed me, making me laugh and our friends yell at us.

"Hey, PDA!" Aaron yelled and I rolled my eyes then threw a pillow at him.

"Shut up, Aaron." He grinned and we had dinner, cake, and I got my presents. When everyone was gone, I got a hot bath to relax but Zak came in and sat on the rim of the tub.

"Are you relaxing?" I nodded and looked up at him then he leaned down and kissed me.

"I love you." He whispered and I grinned on his soft lips.

"I love you too." Then he stripped and sunk into the water behind me, hugging me around my ribcage. I smiled as I relaxed on him but he was cupping his hand and letting the water fall down my body.

"You can sleep if you want, I won't let you drown." I laughed and turned my head so my face was in the crook of his neck.

"I love you, Zak Bagans." I whispered and let my eyes fall shut, slowly falling asleep on him.

Zak's POV
I lifted her out of the tub then carried her to the bed, drying her off. I didn't bother trying to dress her since she was way too hard to dress when asleep, I had learned that in a very bad way. I threw on some boxers and sleep pants then climbed in next to her, holding her close, as Tiny and Gracie came in. Tiny laid in his bed then Gracie laid next to him, Tiny curling up around her, and I smiled as they snored together. Thank god they're both spayed and neutered.
