"Hi it's Jack, I'm not here right now but you can leave a message, I'll call you back, eventually."

"Hi it's Jack, I'm not here right now but you can leave a message, I'll call you back, eventually."

"Hi it's Jack, I'm not here right now but you can leave a message, I'll call you back, eventually."

"Hi it's Jack, I'm not here right now but you can lea-"

"Luke you have to stop now." Ashton said walking into Luke's room softly. "It's not healthy to do this."

Ashton went forward the bed, where Luke was sat criss-cross. He had tears strains on his cheeks and he was holding in his phone for dear life. It hurt Ashton to do that, but he had no choice. The blonde was here for two days now and he had been locked in his room ever since, dialling Jack's number again and again and listening to the voicemail on repeat for hours.

At first, Ashton thought that he should let him, because hearing his brother's voice could be reassuring, but now it was 10 pm and Luke needed to stop for his own good.

"Luke hey, you hear me?" Ashton asked as he was climbing on the bed.

Luke kept his eyes glued on his phone he knew it wasn't healthy to do this, but he needed it.

"Hi it's Jack, I'm not here right now but you can leave a message, I'll call you back, eventually."

At the end of the sentence, Jack's was giggling, that made Luke's heart broke once again and he let out a strangled sob. As he was about to press the phone icon again, Ashton grabbed his hand softly. He intertwined their fingers and raised the blond's chin with his other hand.

"Give me you phone Luke." He asked smoothly.

Luke shook his head, holding his phone tightly into his other hand. He was scared to forget Jack's voice.

"I can't." He said out of breath.

"It's okay Lu, I know you can." Ashton rubbed his thumb on the back of his hand. "You can call him one last time, and then you'll sleep alright?"

Luke nodded sniffling and closing his eyes to keep himself built up. His thumb hesitated over the little green icon and then he pressed it, holding his breath.

"Hi it's Jack, I'm not here right now but you can leave a message, I'll call you back, eventually."

Luke opened his eyes and looked at Ashton's offered hand. He hesitated, but he reluctantly dropped the device into his hand. The older boy slipped it into his back jean's pocket and he kissed Luke's forehead softly. He was so sad to see his best friend like this but he guessed that it was part of the mourning process.

Luke rested his forehead on Ashton's shoulder for a while, sniffling gently until he had no tears left to cry.

When Ashton left to go to bed, Luke waited for him to be in his room and then he sneaked out. He tip-toed to the living room trying not to wake up Lenny and as expected his phone was on the small tv table. Luke walked to the small table and when he bent to grab it the light suddenly turned on.

Luke jumped and he dropped the phone on the table, acting as nothing happened.

"What are you doing?" Ashton asked, he had his arms crossed on his chest and he looked disapointed.

"N-nothing." Luke said shaking his head innocently.

"Don't lie to me Luke." Ashton said frowning while he was walking to the small table. He was shirtless and he had a shorts laying low on his hips.

"I'm not lying." He said clenching his fists.

"You do realize that I saw just saw you with your phone right?" He chuckled. "C'mon Luke I'm trying to help you."

"You don't need to treat me like a kid." Luke frowned, he didn't need help anyway.

"Then don't act like one!" Ashton said grabbing the phone on the table.

"I'm not a kid!" Luke said louder and clenching his fists harder. "Now give it back."

"No, you don't need it." Ashton said frowning.

Luke breathed deeply, his blood was already boiling and he didn't want to be angry with Ashton. Not now, please not now. He begged internally. But it was too late he could feel the crisis coming and he had no will to stop it.

"Fuck, Ashton give it back." He said, his nails opening the old scratch on the palms of his hands. He walked closer to Ashton, their eyes locked.

"Or what?" Ashton asked. "What are you gonna do? You're gonna hit me?" He ticked off looking at Luke's clenched fists.

Luke closed his eyes again, trying to fight it but it was stronger than him. He could already feel the heat into his chest and his heart beating faster. Ashton walked closer, they were a few inches apart and Luke could smell Ashton's coconut shampoo.

"What are you gonna do Luke?" The brunette raised an eyebrow. He was pushing Luke to the limit because maybe that's what Luke needed, maybe he needed to explode.

Or maybe not.

"GIVE IT BACK FOR FUCK'S SAKE." Luke yelled at his face, throwing his fists against Ashton's bare chest.

Ashton let out a loud 'Hmmf.' but then he dropped the phone on the floor and grabbed Luke's forearms tightly and he pushed the blonde against the wall. Luke's eyes widened when his back slammed against the wall harshly. His theeth were gritted and Ashton could see the rage inside of his eyes along with some tears threatening to fall.

"You do not yell at me." Ashton said, pressing Luke's arms each side of the blond's head.

Luke whined at the pressure around his wrist but he didn't break the eye contact.

"DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO! YOU'RE NOT MY DAD." He yelled back.

"I'm trying to help you Luke can't you see that?" He said looking into the ocean's pupils. "I'm doing this because I don't want you to turn crazy with this stupid voice mailbox!"

"NO YOU'RE NOT, YOU JUST WANT TO TAKE MY PHONE! YOU'RE TREATING ME LIKE A KID!" He hicuped due to the sobs. 'I'M SO TIRED OF EVERYONE TREATING ME LIKE A KID, I'M 20, I DON'T NEED YOUR HELP OR ANYONE'S HE-"

"Shut up Luke! You need to calm down before you say something that you will regret." Ashton said with a stern look. Now the brunette regretted pushing on Luke when he was like this, maybe it wasn't a good idea after all, he needed to try new options.

"NO! I WON'T SHUT UP AND I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK! I KNEW I SHOULDN'T HAVE MOVED IN HERE, YOU'RE ONLY TRYING TO CHANGE ME AN-"

"I said shut up Luke!" Ashton said pressing Luke's arms harder into the wall, the blond's was slowly but surely starting to get on Ashton's nerves.

He needed to shut him up.

"NO FUCK YOU! YOU DON'T EVEN CARE ABOUT ME ANYW-"

So he did.

He slammed roughly his lips on Luke's mouth, letting the end of his sentence die on his lips and silencing the young Hemmings immediately.
