Chapter 9

Where am I?

I stared around at the sewage like landscape. I was standing in the middle of a large dome like room that seemed to be filled with murky yellowish water that reached up to just above my ankles.

Surrounding me were three large cages with thick metal bars that seemed to stretch into a black abyss. On each cage was a small paper with some sort of symbol or writing on it, probably a type of seal.

What do you mean? Why are you all locked up?

You see kiddo, we're sealed inside of you so it's like a prison

But... I'm sorry, I don't want you all to be in a prison... Is there some way to free you all?

Well... you see... you could maybe... it's complicated

Oh... well can you at least tell me how long I've been out for?

About eighteen hours or so

I opened my eyes and looked around to see that the room I was in was empty. It was quiet, except for the occasional chirp of a bird outside. I stood up and wobbled around a bit before I started to walk towards the door, my legs a bit stiff from laying down so long.

It was dark out, so I guess everyone was downstairs eating dinner by now. As I was about to walk into the dining room, Inari, Tsunami's son, pushed past me and ran outside.

"That was going too far Naruto!"

I smiled as I heard Sakura scold Naruto, when said boy suddenly rushed by and out the door, saying something about proving heroes existed?

What was that all about?

No idea

".... Anyway, when's Yuki gonna wake up?"

"We don't know"

"Could be late tonight or early tomorrow morning"

That's my cue

I walked inside, "Or she could wake up now" I said with a smile. Gādian and Faitā sprang up from their seats and tackled me to the ground with squeals of joy. I laughed along with them and soon the others joined in, the once tense atmosphere fading away.

Faitā instantly lifted her arms and made grabbing motions with her hands, indicating that she wanted to be picked up. I scooped her up and placed her on my hip before walking over to join the others at the table. Gādian ran over and scrambled up next to me with a big smile on his face, his hand clutching my sleeve.

Tsunami then placed a bowl of food in front of me and I tried to give a small smile. Just by the smell of the food... it made me want to throw up. I didn't know why, I should be hungry after going almost a whole day without food.
