Betty's POV:
I was sitting on the couch, reading a book when my mom came through the door.
"Hey mom..." I started. I sat up shocked when my sister, Polly was at the door.
"Hi Betty. Just listen to me. I can explain." she said sitting next to me.
"Polly? Where have you been? You left me. You left mom too!" I exclaimed, "You just expect us to be okay when you walk back into our lives."
She grabbed my hands, "Betty...."
I got up and put my hands out of her grasp, "Just. Just give me time." I ran up the stairs and called Jughead straight away.
"Hey Betty, is everything okay?" he asked straight away.
"No, my sister Polly just came back. I haven't seen her in forever... I don't know what to do." I said frantically.
I felt something drip from my palm and I looked down. I was digging my nails into my palms. I sighed, "Jug. I'll call you back." and hung up before he could say anything.
My sister and I had history. When we were little, she used to control me and make me do things I didn't want to do. But, after Dad left, she became nice and then left, out of the blue.
I remember it like it was yesterday...
I ran down the steps to go see my mom.
"Hey mom! Where's Polly? We're going dress shopping today for her dance."
"She left us, sweetie." she said blankley.
"What? What do you mean she left us?" I asked, tears rolling down my cheeks.
"She decided to leave. She's a teenager, Betty. She doesn't want to be around her family." mom replied.
"But, why? That doesn't make sense..." I replied with tears running down my eyes.
"She just did. If that's what she wants."
"But, you don't even care?" I asked her, sobbing.
"Betty... Dear. I do. It's just different." she replied hugging me.
Different? I sat in my bed confused. Where did Polly go? And why was she back now? I needed to find everything out.
I walked down the stairs and heard Polly and my mom having a conversation.
"So, do you now know why I did that?" my mom asked Polly.
"Yes, it was for my own good, mom." she replied.
I walked around the corner, "Where did you go?" I asked.
"Betty, it's good if you don't know." my mom whispered.
"Why? I'm 16 years old mom, I can handle it."
"Well, Mom sent me to the Sisters of Quiet Mercy." she explained, "It was to help me with my mental health. Dad wasn't the best to me."
I was shocked and I pulled her into a hug, "I'm so sorry Pol, I didn't know." I said into her shoulder.
"It's okay, Betty." she whispered, "I'm just happy dad is gone."
"Me too." I replied.
"Me three." my mom said and we all laughed.
