Jughead's POV:
Finally. Finally everything was going to be ok. Betty went home a little later and I stayed with Archie till Mr. Andrews got back. The only part that made me feel uncomfortable was Veronica.

"So... Jughead." she started, "Since when have you and Betty been so close?"

"Ever since we were partnered up with the book report." I replied.

She smiled and turned to Archie and they started talking. All I wanted to do was see Betty, but she was probably already asleep. I laid on Archie's bed and closed my eyes for only a split second when Mr. Andrews came to the door.

"Jughead, there's someone here to see you." he said and I got up and followed him downstairs to see Sheriff Keller.

"Hello Jughead." he said and I nodded "Hey Sheriff Keller."

"Why don't we have a seat, this might be a lot to take in." he suggested, so we all sat down.

"So, we have taken a lot of abuse cases seriously," he started, "but those had evidence. I'm starting to believe that you're making this up to put your father in jail."

Tears filled my eyes, "W- what? So he's not getting arrested?" I asked Sheriff Keller.

He shook his head 'no' and felt my whole world crumble. Just like everything just came crashing down. I got up and went to the door, "Do you understand Jughead?" Sheriff Keller asked me before I left. I threw a quick nod and left.

Why would anyone believe me anyway? I'm the loner, outsider that apparently is a trouble maker.

It was 10:30 pm. I was sitting outside in the cold. I looked over to my left and saw Betty's house and started walking over.

I felt lost. I needed to see her. I walked over and went to the back of her house to find a ladder and I placed it gently up to her window. I got up there and sat on the roof and looked inside.

I could see her beautiful face. She was asleep, snuggled up in her blanket with a stuffed animal. I smiled and gently tapped on the window. She stirred a little bit and turned to her other side and I couldn't see her face anymore.

I tapped on her window more and she finally woke up and looked out her window and saw me. She sleepily got up and opened the window, "Jughead?" she asked as I climbed inside.

"Aren't you staying at Mr. Andrews?" she whispered.

"No, not anymore. Sheriff Keller doesn't believe me." I told her.

"Well, I'll be your witness. C'mon let's go, I'll tell them about the phone call." she said about to turn towards the door but I grabbed her hand softly.

"It's not going to work, Betts, and I don't want you getting into this."I said softly.

She looked up at me and saw how upset I was and pulled me into a hug. She wrapped her arms around me and snuggled her head into my shoulder. I put my head on top of hers and wrapped my arms around her too.

After a while of hugging, we sat down on her bed and talked, "So where are you staying now, Juggie?" she asked me.

"I'll figure something out." I replied scrunching up the blanket and sighing.

"Just promise me you won't go back to that house." she said quietly.

"Betts, you know I can't promise that.." I said.

She scooted over closer to me and put her head on my shoulder, "I just don't want you to get hurt." she said.

I put my head on top of her head and sighed.

Betty's POV:
About an hour later, Jughead told me he was going to leave.

"Where are you going to sleep?" I asked him.

"The treehouse." he replied and I watched him go down the ladder and run to the treehouse. I waited till he went inside to go down the ladder and walk to the sheriffs station.

I wasn't going to give up. I've been a witness. I got to the Sheriffs Station, and I walked in and instantly saw Sheriff Keller.

"Sheriff Keller, can we talk?" I asked him.

"Betty, what are you doing out this late?" he asked me.

"I needed to talk to someone." I told him.

There was no one there so we sat in the lobby and talked, "I'm a witness to what Jughead talked about earlier..." I started. He looked at me confused so I continued, "I was on the phone with Mr. Jones because he took Jughead's phone. He was yelling at Jughead for no reason, and yelling at me to stay away from Jughead. Then, I walked to the trailer park and found him yelling at Jug. On numerous occasions, I've had to help Jughead deal with his father. He's come to school with a black eye, and Fp has kicked him in the stomach, and  slammed him up against the wall." I told him.

"Okay, we can talk to Fp tomorrow, and for now, tell Jughead to stay out of the house, If this is real we don't want him to hurt Jughead again." I nodded and walked out of there, running into my mother.

"Elizabeth Cooper what were you thinking running out of the house this late!" she yelled at me, dragging me to the car.

"Mom, I was at the Sheriffs Station, I'm fine," I replied.

She went to her side of the car and left me alone for a couple seconds. She made me so mad. I started to dig my nails into my palms, an old habit that's coming back.

I hid my hands from her and she came into the car and started lecturing me. I didn't listen till I heard: "You've been acting up ever since you've started hanging out with Jughead again. Maybe you should stop hanging out with him."

I froze on her words. I didn't respond. Once we got inside, I finally said something, "Jughead is an amazing person mom, it sucks that you don't see that."

Veronica's POV:
Once Jughead got up from Archie's bed, I told Archie I was going to the bathroom and I listened to their conversation.

They didn't believe Jughead. Looks like I'm going to have to find someone else's life to ruin.

But who?
