Dark Pasts Pt 6

Chloe's Pov

I looked out the window, my deep blue orbs lazily looking over the grassy terrain. Lux had fallen asleep, but I was to tired to either care or draw on her sleeping face. I had my own problems at the moment. Images flashed through my head as I blinked, tears building up, a lump burning in my throat. Red. Blood. The warm liquid seeped through my 12 year old hands, making them crimson. I shook my head back and forth, erasing the invalid thoughts from my head. My eyes closed softly, whisking me away to a nightmare filled sleep.

<Dream>

It was raining. My black dress soaking through. Next to me man stood. He was large and fat and had a huge grin with piercing yellow eyes. In front of me stood a round gravestone, engraved with the name Lacy Kanton, my mother. Tears slid down my face, the saltiness searing my lips as they fell through my lips, drenching my tongue. "You can really do it?" I asked, my chubby face looking up at him, hope filling my puffy eyes. "Oh course! But I need a little help from you, my dear girl. You retched god has detested you! Call for you dear mummy and she shall return. I promise." The man said, looking at me. A large metal skeleton rose from the ground, a dark pentacle engraved on its human like skull. I opened my mouth, but nothing came out, for a hand came barreling towards me, covering my scream of my mothers name. There stood a man, grey hair crowning his head. "Don't say anything. Got it?" He said quietly, smiling at me. "But Daddy, mommy can come back. We can be a family again!" I said looking at my Father, happy tears replacing my pain filled ones. He lifted his head, looking at the chubby man behind me. "I'll take her place, just leave her alone." He said as he pushed me backwards. "Lacy!" He yelled, all of the pain and suffering coming out in one single yell. A bolt of purple lightning filled my eyes as the name of my mother was engraved in cursive under the pentacle of the skeleton.

It seemed rigid at first, moving in stiff spasms. "Why, Harold? Why did you turn me into and Akuma?!" It yelled towards my dad, raising its arms above its head. I watched in horror as the thing brought it's metal stubs down on my Father's head, knocking him to the ground. "C-Ch-Chloe, t-take th-this, and b-b-become a-an exor-exorcist." My Father said, tossing a ring with a glowing green stone towards me. I caught it, before standing up and putting it on my finger gently. It glowed brightly before bursting into a bright green light, and turning into two navy blue guns with silver swirls making an intricate design on it. I moved on my own, squeezing the triggers, bullets flying from the guns. One hit my Mother square in the head, her body turning to dust instantly. "No! Mom!" I yelled lunging forward. I cursed at myself, realizing how stupid I must've been, to not realize if I shot the gun, someone would get hurt. A hand popped in front on me. My Father's. "Dad." I whispered gently. "No. I love you, now go. Avenge-" his sentence was cut short by a raspy breath, and then silence. My eyes were wide as blood soaked my hands, tears spilled from my eyes, landing on my Father's body. The chubby man had long since disappeared, as well. I didn't care. My family was dead. And nothing could change that.

Who knows how long I sat there. I sat there until dawn arrived. Rigor-mortis had set into my father's body, locking his last movements into time. No tears came. I had dried my tear ducts up completely. I stared into the distance, sirens filling my ears as I stood up slowly, picking my guns from off the floor, holding them in my hands. I walked rigidly into the forest surrounding the graveyard, slinking into the shadows, and never to be seen until 4 years later.

<Dream End>

I awoke with a start, beads of sweat sliding down my face. My breath came fast and my heart beat wildly. In front of me lay a sleeping Lux, her face peaceful and serene. Outside was the train station, lamp posts standing along the tracks, illuminating the surrounding area. I got up, pulling my suit case from the rack above us. I shook Lux's shoulder, her bolting right up. "We're here." I said solemnly. Lux nodded, standing up to grab her stuff. We exited the room, the soft plush carpet beneath us cushioning the sound our shoes made as we moved along the aisle. 'Time to get moving' I thought to myself as we entered the busy station.

Lux's Pov

Chloe was acting strange. Very strange. Her face was damp and her eyes were dull. I couldn't get a read on what was wrong with her. I ran up to her and gently put my hand on her shoulder. "Hey. Is something wrong?" I asked, my eyebrows knitting together in worry. "It's nothing. Let's focus on the task at hand." Chloe said forcefully, shrugging my hand off of her. I looked at her worriedly before concentrating. We arrived at a hotel, opening the door. At the desk stood a man, handing a key to a hound women. We walked up to the desk, and rang the bell. "Hello there madam's. What can I do for you today?" He asked, putting on a smile. "Um, we have a reservation. We're from the Black Order." I said pointing to the crest on my chest. His eyes followed before widening. I gasped as I blinked, my right eye activating. I saw a women's soul above him, chained and bound. It was horrid, but wasn't the first time I'd seen it. I held a gag back as I motioned for Chloe to activate her Innocence. I swung at the Akuma, slicing it in half quickly. The Akuma in front of me started to bubble, a retched scream coming from his throat, before he vaporized into thin air, a small trail of dust falling onto the desk. "Well, at least we know we're in the right place." I said sighing, my eye returning from its previous state.

I deactivated my Innocence, Chloe deactivating hers as well. We grabbed a random key and ran up the stairs, reading the number on a small tag attached to the key. We entered our room throwing ourselves on the two beds that lay parallel to each other. I groaned, before turning to look at Chloe. "What was up with you back there. You just activated your Innocence and stood there! I had to take it down by myself!" I yelled at her. "Snap out of it!" I yelled as she stared at me blankly. "C'mon Chloe! Talk to me!" I pleaded. She stared at me before rolling off of her bed and onto the floor, just laying there. "Whatever." I mumbled before pulling the cover back from my bed and drifting off into a light sleep.

Light shone in my eye as I opened my eyes slowly. In front of me stood a beaming Chloe with a huge plate of food in her hand. "Morning my favorite equip type." She said giving the plate of food. I dug in not even bothering to ask where she got it. I finished the plate, my stomach still grumbling. "Well. This is enough for now I guess." I mumbled, wiping my mouth. Chloe was eating while reading a book. I stretched my body before getting up and changing into some fresh clothes. I pulled on a thin black turtle necked shirt with no sleeves. I also put on a pair of white jeans and a pair of three inch heels with golden studs on them. Chloe looked at me weirdly as I pulled my hair back, leaving a tiny braid on the side of my hair and tying it back with the rest if my hair. "We gotta look the part, don't we?" I asked pulling a make up kit from my bag. "Oh no." Chloe said as I grinned evilly and made my way towards her.
