Dark Pasts Pt 10
Allen's Pov
Tears dripped slowly out of my eyes, falling onto the floor, creating puddles. Some fell on a piece of cloth held in my hands. It was Lux's cross. I felt sad and betrayed. I didn't want to make her leave, but I guess I may have over reacted a bit. A soft tapping came from my door, causing me to quickly dry my tears. "Come in." I said sobering myself up. Who came in almost made me have a heart attack......
Luxis' Pov
I rapped my knuckles softly on the room across the hall. My skin touching the dark wood of the arched door. It was nearly midnight, now. Lavi and Chloe had fallen asleep, but I couldn't. I had short intervals of sleep, but decided around 11:00 that maybe apologizing to Allen would help. He had been cooped up in his room for a while now, every since I've gotten back. "Come in." Came a shaky reply. I turned the round brass doorknob, entering the room slowly. As I closed the door behind me, I think Allen almost had a heart attack..... My black hair swished behind me, my green optics holding grief.
Allen looked at me in shock as I smiled sadly. He quickly reverted his look of shock into one of anger, glaring at me. "Hey." I said. "What do you want?" Allen said, anger lacing his voice. I sat down on the bed, hugging Allen. He didn't move, from shock or anger I didn't know. Slowly, he wrapped his arms around me, melting into the hug. "I'm sorry." I said softly. "I shouldn't have hidden this from you guys. I should have told you sooner." I said as Allen pulled away. "It's not your fault. I over reacted. I don't have the authority to kick you out. Your an exorcist. And a friend. I'm sorry." He said hugging me. Tears streamed down my face, wetting Allen's clothes. "I'm so, so, so, sorry." I whispered over and over again. Allen just sat there with me, comforting me, like a real friend would.
After a little bit more crying and Allen being comforting, we pulled away smiling. I looked at him, joy obvious in my eyes. "It's nice to know I have a friend. Besides Chloe, I mean." I said to Allen. "Yeah. I don't know how to explain it, but something tells we're going to be really close one day." Allen said giving me a closed eyed smile. "Yeah. I know what you mean, buuuuuut that could be the fatigue wearing on me, sooo i'ma going to sleep here tonight." I said flopping onto the bed. "Wait, Lux-" Allen was cut short by the soft snores coming from my body.
<Dream>
Darkness shrouded me as I jumped along rooftops, searching for the house of my next victim. 'Jennifer Weskly. 4976 Hector lane. Apartment 37 on the second floor.' I repeated the info Nikai had given me over in my head, making sure not to mix my facts up. I was dressed in black. A tight tank top adorned my body, a pair of black Jean shorts covering my legs until mid thigh. A pair of leather knee high boots with three inch heels covering my legs. My thick black hair shone in the moonlight, swishing back and forth in its ponytail. The city was boring and slow tonight. Days like these prohibiting how entertained I could be. I sighed, my eyes closing for a second, before my mind cleared, focusing on the task at hand.
On my thighs held identical holsters for my guns, resting them comfortably so they didn't rub against me when I ran. On my left arm a holster for a hunting knife, was secured tightly, restricting any movement from the holster. I pulled a small handkerchief around my throat, cutting off the cold, making me sink into the night once again, this time warm. My shocking green eyes pierced the night, the only part of me visible. I jumped to another roof top silently, landing with out a sound, before sliding into a open window. My feet touched the floor soundlessly as I slinked into the empty shadows. I tip toed towards an open door, where soft snoring emanated from. I giggled to myself gently before allowing a maniacal smile to spread across my face. I entered the bedroom, looking at the sleeping form of my once childhood friend.
My knife slid silently out of its holster, the shiny metal glinting in the moonlight. I brought the knife up, my clothing making a sort of shifting sound. I plunged the knife deep into her abdomen, her waking up instantly. She saw my face and gasped, betrayal filling her eyes. A deep red color stained my hands, giving me pleasure in the warmth it gave me. A deep pain exploded in my eye as I clutched my left eye, gasping. "I curse you Luxis Palen. I curse you." Jennifer said as her last breath left her body, sending me into a wave of laughter. "Oh that was hilarious! You should've seen your face! Killed by your own friend! What a laugh! You, my dear friend. Just made my day." I yelled laughing while a round of sirens sounded in the distance. "Oops. Time to go." I said smirking as I grabbed my knife and jumped out the window, running along the rooftops towards Nikai and I's house.
<Dream End>
A searing pain exploded In my chest as I was blown backwards out of the bed along with Allen, us both landing on the opposite side of the room. Black pentacles spread across our skin as a large group of Akuma busted into our room. My heart started to slow as Allen looked at me. "I'll be fine." I said as my eyes closed slowly. "Lux!" Was all I heard as I drifted off.
