L.E.S, NYC
10 am - A few days later.. Mid-AprilSHANTEL
"I told that bastard not to put his hands on me again." She winced at the contact of the cold wash cloth on her cheek.
Shantel had plans for that tho.
Plans that include fucking with Jared's mind and his so-called sense of power. She had finished taking care of herself; applied a little sheer covering of a powered foundation to cover the light discoloration on her cheek. Now she'd have to take care of Jared. She unlocked the door and opened it.
His ass still asleep on the floor
"Get yo' ass up!" Shantel kicked him lightly in his side then again when he didn't respond. She left him there and waited for him in their bathroom. She had the makeup sponge ready and her mental block for his soon to come bullshit apology.
"Jar—" she perched her lips to say his name just as he appeared in the doorway. She gestured to him as if he was a child, telling him to sit his ass down. He didn't complain or bark back he simply obeyed. He quietly stared up at Shantel as she dabbed the foundation around the eye she blackened. On the sly side, she was kind of proud of herself. She'd always wanted to be a fighter and now she was asserting it. Her backbone was always there and was never leaving, again.
"Forgive me baby." He draped his hands on her petite waist, his green eyes begging for a response. However, she stared through his sorry ass apology and continued to make him look presentable for his job at the Precinct . Because no one knew they fought the way they did.
No one knew the real reason to that one day three months ago why Shantel had a subtle limp because Jared had punched her in her leg. No one knew the real reason why, just four weeks ago, Jared would flinch every time someone would pat him on the shoulder because Shantel clawed to the white meat showed. So it's safe to say that they keep their abuse under wraps.
"Baby listen to me. I'm sorry." He spoke again, this time shaking her lightly at the waist.
"You're always sorry." She said to herself. "Be still Jared." Shantel told him as she continue tending to his eye. She wasn't going to stand here and hear another one of his lame ass excuses.
How many times are you going to apologize and promise you're going to change?
He's just lying and to be quite frank, Shantel was tired of being drug along for his drawn out ride. However, she wasn't about to sit here and tell him she's caught him in his lies. Hell! He probably already knows. He could see through hers.
"Shan say something. Don't act like you don't hear me."
"I said! –" she raised her voice but then caught herself.
"I said be still Jared." Shantel didn't want to stand here and continue to repeat herself. She had plans she wanted to set in motion and they weren't going to get started if he continued to act like a damn child.
