RILEY EAST

"I'm pulling up right now with Kinsley, Terminal C right?"

"Yes! Ohhhh we see your car"

I smiled brightly as I searched through the car passenger side window looking for my Nan and Momma Rose as I kept the car coasting along the airport sidewalk.

" DER! I see Glam- Ma Rose and Glo Glo"

I listened to my hyper daughter as she bounced up and down in her car seat.

It was Thursday and East Way LA was opening in 2 days. Rose and my Nan flew down this morning and Nasir would be here in the tommororw . I was excited to have all my family staying with us for the week and from the sounds of Kinsley the kids would be excited too.

"Oh! I see them too!

I couldn't lie I was getting excited to as watched my Nans beautiful smile and shades get closer to the car.

"I pulled up in front of them and quickly exited the car grabbing Kinsley from her car seat in the process. I put her down on the sidewalk as we held hands, till Kinsley could no longer contain her self as she broke free from me , her little fat legs moving fast to get to her Grand and Great-Grand ma

" look at my Kinsley, oooohh girl you fly like your Glo Glo, come give me some sugar.. my sweet"

I could see Kinsley's smile from behind as she hugged my Nan Gloria with everything she had, next was Rose.

"Kinsley you ready to turn LA up!??"

Rose said as she took Kinsley from Gloria and kissed all over her tiny face .

" YEAhhhh!"

I palmed my face as I hugged my Nan and helped pick up their luggage, as we walked back to the car.

" the weather is beautiful in LA, uggh I keep tell Nas, let's get a house out here."

I listened to my Nan say as we all loaded into my car and pulled off into airport exit traffic heading back home.

"Oh! And Sam got her own room, mommy and daddy said I gotta share with 'Tana"

I eased drop on Kinsley and Rose talking as I drove listening to my Nan talk about the gossip I missed back home.

" well , we can see what we can go about getting that changed.. but shhhh okay?"

"Okay, cause' 'Tana snore"

I watched Rose crack up laughing as Kinsley kept a straight face in her car seat

"Don't worry pequeño"

Rose sent Kinsley a wink before rejoining the adult conversation in the car, giving Kinsley her Leap Frog Tablet to play with.

"But the police came by the brownstone asking if I've seen Rochelle, it's been what, almost three years, as far as I'm concerned she's dead to us"

I nodded in agreement as I caught Rose moving uncomfortably in the backseat

" you okay Rose? You need me to turn the AC up higher, I know this LA heat can be brutal"

" No, no baby I'm fine.. just a little tired from the flight.. but anyway how are you enjoying living in LA now?"

" I'm liking it a lot actually, took a little while getting use to the traffic but once I got the girls in pre-school/ daycare and 'Tana on schedule it started getting way easier"
