The night was slowly creeping in and the black paladin was sitting on his lion, not to far away from the Garrison.

Cosmo was lying beside him as the two were watching the sunset. Cosmo nudged Keith's hand asking him to be petting. For course Keith smiled and excepted the opportunity.

Not to long after Cosmo's head shoots up, looking behind the two of them. A confused Keith shrugged as he heard a familiar voice.

"You can really be a hard guy to find, when you wanna be." Lance chuckled, sitting down beside Keith.

Cosmo layed his head back down on Keith's knee, realising that there was no threat to him or Keith.

"Hey lance...wow! What are you wearing?" Keith's eyes shout open, noticing Lance's...unusual outfit.

"Coran made it for me, for my date with Allura." Lance said, sitting down beside Keith.

Keith's felt his stomach turn as Lance said the words 'date with Allura', "A date with Allura? Wow! Well done Lance." He just about managed to conjure up, with a fake smile to add to.

Lance sighed taking of the pot, that Coran had earlier called a 'helmet'. "Thanks, but it could be our last. I can't keep all these Altean customs." Lance rested his arm on the pot.

Keith gave him a sideways smile, "Listen, if she's going out with you it's because she likes you.The stupid, annoying, earth version of you."
'I would know from experience...' Keith quickly pushed his thoughts aside.

Lance let out an airy laugh, his gaze turned to the sun setting on the horizon. "You watching the sun set?"

"Y-yeah...it might be a while since we get to see it again." Keith swallowed as he felt Lance's hand brush against him own.

Lance nodded in agreement, "Man, I'm really gonna miss this place."

Keith slowly moved his hand away, and moving his legs so he was now sitting cross-legged. "That's why we gotta end this war. And we're going do it with the Lance that's the paladin of the red lion, the lance that's always got my back and the Lance that knows exactly who he his and what he's got to offer." Keith gave Lance a grinned which was both full of joy and sorrow.

Lance sighed happily, unaware of Keith's hurt. "You ever been in love?"

"Once..." Keith glanced back to Cosmo for a moment - who was looking up at him, giving Keith a look to tell the truth to Lance...before it was to late. But it was already to late, and that's what made Keith feel empty.

Lance moved closer interested in what Keith had to say. "How did it end?" He tilted his head, hoping for an interesting story.

Keith broke their eye contact and smiled warmly, looking at the sun as it disappeared from their sight. "It hasn't."

Lance playfully punched Keith in the shoulder, "I'm sure that that lucky person would be sure one happy person if they were to be asked out by you. You should ask them out? Who is it, if you don't mind me asking? Is it Axca?! Tell me it's Axca. If it's Veronica I swear, it's not that it's bad...blah, blah...blah..."

Keith slowly started to zone out; blocking out ever sound from his ears. He was grateful it was getting darker out. So grateful that Lance wouldn't have been able to see the single tear running down the right side of his face.

'I wish it was me and not Allura that he was taking to dinner tonight...' The raven head thought to himself again, 'If I didn't run off with The Blades, I-I could have had a chance with Lance. And I blew it. The more I think of it, the more I realize-"

"Keith?! Are you even listening to me?" Lance waved his hands in front of Keith's face.

"Whoa? S-sorry...I guess I zoned out." Keith scratched the back of his mullet. His head followed Lance as he stood up.

"It's alright man, you're probably just tired. Get some rest, talk to you later?" Lance picked up the metal pot and looked over his shoulder, back at Keith as he started jogging down Black's back.

"Sure." Keith watched as he left his sight completely and back into the main building of the Garrison. His head dropped, "A date with Allura huh?...she's lucky."

Cosmo whined sadly at Keith, taking in the view of his owner shedding tears. He licked a few droplets off Keith's rose red cheeks.

Keith hiccuped doing the same, whipping away the water rolling down his face. "I-I know, I should be happy for them. But in reality, I wonder why Lance can't see that really I'm the one that he needs. Sure Allura's nice, pretty, smart, kind, but she's never supported him or gave him confidence when he was feeling down. I just don't understand what he sees in her..." Tears where now flowing down Keith's face, leave a puddle on top of Black. "I wish he loves me, the way I love him..."
