Keith was sitting in the control room of the Atlas, three O'clock at night, by himself. He had his left arm holding up his head as he stared into the galaxy sky.

Three stars had grabbed his attention, well there was only two star now. The other one, the brighter one, had disappeared; leaving two.

Just then the door opened, snapping his head around Keith seen Lance walk in; tried and with his robe on - no face mask though.

"Oh." Lance stopped when he seen Keith with red eyes. Wait, was he crying? "You come here too?"

Keith gave him a slow nod turning his attention back out the window.

Lance sat down beside him and tilted his head in the direction he was looking. "What ya looking at?"

"Hm? Oh..." Keith fiddled with the seam of his jacket, seeming distracted. "The stars..."

"Really? Why?"

"Because..." Keith took a deep sigh and brought his knees to his chest. "Because it reminds me of people, the stars do..."

Knitting his eyebrows together, Lance stared at Keith in a puzzled way.

"Do I need to explain it?" Keith left out an annoyed groan and looked at a confused Lance.

"Yeah- but only if you want to...I mean..." Lance hesitated slightly, wanting to set his hand on Keith's shoulder but then realized the two didn't have that good of a friendship for him to do it, so he kept his hand at his side.

"Okay...so every star in the sky has a pair."

"Like a partner?"

"Yeah. Like a partner, all except one. After we'd save a certain plant I'd count all of the stars from where we were, and I'd see that there's always one star which doesn't have a match..." Keith's eyelids dropped on him a little, he half closed his eyes to the memories. "And...there were two stars that stood out to me the most, and there where only two stars up until we first meet Allura...You could see them from the control room, I named them A and B. A and B seemed really close and bright when they were beside eachother. Then the more I stared, the more we got to know each other in the base as team mates and friends; I seen another star appear..."

Lance's expressions saddened, "What happened after the new star appeared?"

Keith blinked back a few tears, "The new star I called it C. B had found an interest in C, B had an argument or arguments with A and B moved away from A to C. A's light started to fade, until I could no longer see the light anymore..."

"Keith...I know this may sound concerning but..." Lance paused for a moment, taking in Keith's empty expression he was giving him. "Keith, are you doing alright? It's just that..." The Cuban boy rubbed the back of his neck. "It's just that, you've been very distant from me and the team after me and Allura started... dating. And I just wanted to let you know that we're here to help you of your in any type of trouble ya know. Ya know?"

Keith mumbled in response, placing his chin on his arms which were over his legs. He glanced back at the stars, and he'd seen star A getting even duller. "I'm fine..."

So, if you haven't figured it out the star thing yet.
Keith is star A, Lance is star B and Allura is star C.

Keith kinda explained it in the paragraph when he says "And...there were two stars that stood out to me the most, and there where only two stars up until we first meet Allura..."

What this means is that Lance and Keith had an interest in eachother, and only Keith had seen it.

Then Allura came along and suddenly Lance took a liking to her, leave Keith alone and hurt... Depressed even...
