Not Alone

Part 13

I wake up and do my morning routine. Isla was already in the kitchen and she was eating a bowl of cereal.

"Morning," I say.

"Morning," she says.

I make a bowl of cereal and eat it.

"So what are you going to do today? Are you going to go to school?" she asks.

"Yeah I'm going to school then I'm probably going to come home and hang out a little. What about you?" I ask.

"I think I'm going to try to meet with Liam," she says.

"Okay just be careful please. I don't know what I would do without you too," I say.

"Don't worry. I promise I'll be safe," she says.

"Okay. I'm going to go to school. I'll see you later," I say.

"Bye," she says giving me a hug.

I go to school and meet up with Nessa and Mia.

"You're back!" Mia says.

"Yup," I say.

"So what happened? Is everything better now?" Nessa ask.

"Well......" I say.

"Uh oh. What happened?" Mia asks.

"So it turns out Isla is alive," I say.

"What?!" they say at the same time.

"Yeah, she faked her death," I say.

"Yikes. I'm sorry!" Nessa says.

"And well my mom left," I say.

"What?!" they say again.

"Yeah she left a note saying she's leaving and now she's gone," I say.

"I'm so sorry Des," Mia says.

"It's fine. It's life. I'm honestly used to it at this point," I say.
"Anyways we should probably get going to class."

"Yeah okay," Nessa says.

"Just ask if you need anything or want to go home okay Des?" Mia says.

"Don't worry guys. I'll be fine," I say.

"Okay," she says.

"I'll see you guys later," I say.

"See you," they say.

Skip school day

"I don't understand why school has to exist. They made it so we suffer," Mia says.

"You read my mind," I say.

"Same," Nessa says.

"So what are you guys going to do today?" Nessa asks.

"I'm probably just going to chill," I say.

"Same here," Mia says.

"What about you?" I ask Nessa.

"I think I'm going to go shopping with my mom," she says.

"Ooh that's fun," I say.

"Not really. She takes forever when we go shopping," she says.

"Ugh good luck with that then," Mia says.

"Yeah," I say.

"Well I'm going to go. I'll see you guys later," she says.

"Bye!" Mia and I say.

"I should get going too," I say.

"Yeah same," she says.

"See you tomorrow," I say.

"See you," she says.

I go home and Isla wasn't home. I really hope nothing happens today. I go to the rooftop once it's dark and I'm done with my homework and I see someone on the rooftop again. And again, it wasn't the person I wish it was.

He smiles when he sees me and I smile back. He picks a paper from the ground and write:
Hey again.

I write:
Hey. Seems like you're always over at Shawn's huh?

He writes:
Yeah we are close.

I write:
Cool.

After that, we talk for a couple more hours. He was a nice guy and all and it was fun to talk to him but it was different. Every second I was talking to him I was wishing it could have been Shawn instead of him. I feel so bad but it's hard for me not too. I keep wishing that at any moment Shawn would come up and I could see him again and we could talk or something but he never ended up coming.

Then I hear someone calling me from the house and I realize Isla was home. I say bye to Nick then go down and as soon as I see her I hug her.

"Hi sis," she says.

"I'm so glad you're okay," I say.

"Me too. Otherwise I could never live with myself, knowing that I left my little sis alone again," she says.

"That doesn't matter anymore. As least you're alive and okay now, I'm fine with it," I say.

"I love you so much Des," she says.

"Love you too Isles," I say.

"I'm going to go to bed now. You should too okay?" she says.

"Okay," I say.

"Goodnight," she says.

"Goodnight," I say.

We were walking to our rooms when suddenly the TV comes on. We look at each other in shock. None of us had turned it on.

"What the heck?" she says.

Then a lady appeared on the TV.

"Hello ladies. I have an announcement," she says.
