"Hello ladies. I have an announcement," she says.

Isla and I look at each other. How important is this announcement that it caused our TV to turn on and it was late at night.

"Along with the leader of the mens section, we have decided that we were wrong. Humans are an important part of this society and we can't get rid of them. Of course we will have our problems along the way but that's just human nature and we will have to deal with that. So with that being said, we decided that we will be taking down the gate and all genders will be reunited. Hope everyone has a good night. Tomorrow will be an interesting day. Goodbye," she says and the TV turns off.

"D-did you hear what she said?" I ask Isla, who looked just as shocked as me, and she nods.

"What the heck," she says.

"I can't believe this," I say.

"I can't either," she says.
"I can finally be with Liam without having to worry."

"I can finally be with Shawn," I say. Then I realize what I just said.

Isla comes out of her shocked moment and looks at me surprised.

"Shawn?" she asks.

"Umm," I say.

"Destiny who is Shawn?" she asks.

"Well...." I say and I scratch the back of my neck.

"Spit it out," she says.

"He's this guy I met a while ago. We first saw each other on our rooftops and we used posters to talk until I found out he knows about the secret hangout place I made that I saw you after you faked your death. We started talking and stuff and we got really close but we didn't get together or anything because we were worried we were going to get caught," I say.

"Oh my goodness," she says.
"That day, when you saw me, were you hanging out with him? Is that why you looked so pale before I even showed myself?" she asks.

"Yeah," I say quietly.

"That is so dangerous! What were you thinking?!" she shouts.

"Hey I'm not the only one! At least I didn't try running away and faking my death!" I shout back.

"You're right. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have shouted at you," she says.

"I'm sorry too. I just yelled it out all to your face," I say.

"Let's just forget about this all okay? Everything's good now and it's going to be perfect after this right?" she says.

"Right," I say but I had a bad feeling. A feeling I always get when things start getting good. This "everything being perfect" thing wasn't going to last long.

We hear a large crash from outside and we go near the window to see what it was. They were taking down the gate already.

"Wow, at this point, I think the gate will be gone by tomorrow," she says.

"Yeah same," I say.

"Wait. You know what this means?!" she asks suddenly getting really energetic.

"What?" I ask.

"Dad and Daniel!" she says.

"Holy cow! I totally forgot about them! How am I so stupid?! I can't believe we're finally going to see them after so long!" I say.

"I know right!" she says.

"Danny isn't going to be so little anymore. We missed so many years of his life," she says, getting sad.

"He's ten now. I can't believe it," I say.

"Okay we seriously have to stop getting so depressing. Let's think of the good part! We will be with him for the rest of his life and we'll watch him grow up from now," she says.

"That's true," I say.

"Now let's cheer up and have some hot chocolate to celebrate!" she says.

"We're not getting any sleep tonight, are we?" I ask

"Nope!" she says smiling.

We were sipping our hot chocolate and talking when we heard someone knocking on the door.

"Who could it be at this time?" Isla asks.

"I don't know. I'll get it," I say.

"You sure?" she asks.

"Yeah," I say.

"Be careful," she says.

"I will," I say.

"Hello?" I ask the person behind the door, without opening it.

"Hey," the voice says.

It wasn't a female voice but it also wasn't a voice I recognized.
