"Isla," I whisper tears starting to form in my eyes.

"Destiny," she says.

"But how? They- they say you were dead!" I say.

"It was all part of the plan," she says.

"Plan?" I ask.

"Yes. The whole plan was that Liam, my boyfriend, and I would run away and then one of my friends would dress up as an officer and tell you guys that I died. It would save you guys all the trouble of having to lie to anyone or miss me," she says.

"Isla are you kidding me?! Do you know how much mom and I cried because we thought you died? We were so upset! Did you really think that coming off as dead would help us live?" I say.

"I know and that's why I'm here now. I made a huge mistake. I really shouldn't have lied that I was dead. Do you know how much I missed you and mom over the time I was gone?" she says.

"I still can't believe it. I'm sorry this is really hard for me to take. I'll see you later I guess," I say and I take off running.

I didn't know where I was going but all I wanted to do was run away and get as far as possible from there. I couldn't believe it. My sister was alive. If you had told me a while ago that she was alive I would have been the happiest person on Earth but after her explanation. I can't believe she did this to me and to mom. She made us so upset. And the person I feel really bad about isn't myself, I can deal with it. But my mom? She blamed herself for this whole case and here Isla was now. Perfectly fine and it turns out she faked her death. If mom finds out she will have a heart attack. I can't believe Isla didn't think this through at all. She didn't even realize how much it would hurt us.

After I finally got tired of running, I see that I'm in a really empty corner of the woods. My knees give out and the next thing I know I'm lying down on the grass. I thought my life was finally improving. Things can take a huge turn so quickly. I let all my tears fall out and then I feel my eyes getting heavy and the world goes dark.

I wake up with the sun in my eyes so I couldn't see anything and my head resting on someone's lap. When I can finally see, I look at the face of the person I was resting on. I could recognize the hazel eyes from anywhere.

"Shawn," I say.

"Hey," he says.

"How did you find me?" I ask.

"I came back a bit after to make sure everything was okay but then I saw footsteps leading into the woods so I followed them and I saw you fell asleep on the ground. It looked uncomfortable so I put your head on my lap so you would have at least something supporting your head," he says.

"You are seriously the kindest person in this messed up world. How the heck is a person like you existing in this messed up place?" I say.

I see him blush a little but he ignores it and says, "Awww thanks. You're awesome too."

We sat in silence for a bit until he breaks it and says, "So what happened? Why did you run here?"

"Turns out my sister is alive," I say.

"What? How?" he asks.

I explain everything she told me and when I was done he looked shocked.

"So she basically faked her death?" he asks.

"Yup," I say.

"Wow that's crazy. I'm so sorry Dessie," he says.

"It's fine. There's nothing we can do about it. I just don't know what I'm going to do after this. How can I treat her the same when I know that she faked her death not even caring what we would feel like after?" I say.

"That's true but you also can't forget that she's your sister and she really loves you. At that moment she was probably just really stressed and didn't have any other option so she wasn't thinking of anything else," he says.

I think about it for a moment.

"Yeah I guess you're right," I say.

"But think of the good thing. She's alive. Your one and only sister that you loved and still love so much, the one you cried so much over because you thought she was dead, is actually alive. She may have lied but she's alive and she's here for you now," he says.

"Yeah I see your point. Thanks Shawn I seriously don't know what I would do without you," I say giving him a hug.

"Aww no problem. I can say the same about you," he says.

Then we pull back. We were sitting really close to each other and our faces were really closer to each other. He hesitates a moment and looks at my lips then at my eyes.

"Shawn-" I start to say but he cute me off.

He cups my cheeks and presses his lips against mine and I give in. I kiss him back.

"Shawn we can't do this," I say after we pull back.

"I know. I'm sorry it's just in that moment and everything," he says scratching the back of his neck.

"Yeah," I say.

We sat for a bit in awkward silence until he says, "Well I guess I should get going now."

I wanted to tell him so bad not to leave. Tell him that I wanted to be with him and everything was going to be fine but I can't. Nothing was going to be okay and we just couldn't be together.

"Okay," was all I end up saying.

"Bye Dessie," he says.

"Bye Shawnie," I say.

This bye didn't sound like a usual bye. It sounded like a forever bye and I really didn't like the sound of that.
