FIVE

Tyler groaned as the morning sun hit his eyes. he turned over and looked at his blue alarm clock. it was 5:30 am. great. tyler could've slept for another 30 minutes. he tried to shut his eyes and go back to sleep but he knew it was useless. he got up from his warm bed and turned on the light to his bathroom. he looked in the mirror and frowned.

after taking a shower he got dressed which was black jeans and a hoodie. he hasn't felt very cute recently. he felt really insecure about how he looked. boys shouldn't wear girl clothes.

after eating a muffin and saying goodbye to his parents, he got into his car and drove to school. when he got there he sighed. he would much rather be wrapped up in his own blankets, in the dark watching soap operas. good thing it was friday.

"hey ryan" tyler said softly as he walked up to his locker where jenna and him were standing. jenna met his eyes but he quickly looked away. he was so stubborn.

"hey ty, no skirt today?" he asked confused. it was not like tyler to not wear a skirt and or dress. tyler smiled and shook his head, trying to not let anyone know he wasn't okay right now. he made up an excuse on how he woke up extremely late.

by lunch tyler was sitting at his usual table looking at the crybabies. he noticed joshua wasn't there again. it had been two days. he had hoped the mysterious boy was okay.

joshua took ashley's tempature again after the second day of her probably having the flu. they couldn't afford going to the doctors or the dentist because of their deadbeat father and that brought pain to josh's chest. only a few more months and he could become ashley's guardian and get her on insurance and make sure she will always be healthy. but for now, pain killers it is.

"alright ash your temp is normal but you are still a little warm." he said as felt her head. ash nodded and sat up, moving the blankets off her and standing up.

"thank you joshua" she said before grabbing the disinfectant spray and spraying it. she doesnt want to get her big brother sick. he smiled.

"i have to work at 4 until 8 so you're gonna go to hayley's and hang out with her is that okay? make sure you shower and bring your laundry so you can do it. we will probably stay there all weekend as well. what do you want for dinner so i can grab it on my way to hayley's" joshua asked the redhead. ashley thought for a moment and her eyes light up.

"can we prettyyyy prettyyy please have spaghetti" ashley pleaded.

"anything for you" joshua said as he playfully pushed her before getting up and going to his room to get ready for work.
