THIRTY THREE

winter break came to an end and second semester of his senior year had begun. joshua was planning on doing all that he can to make sure he graduated. he passed last semester but it was by a thread. he wanted to do better. he wanted to make his mother, ashley, and tyler proud.

"ash you ready?" he asked softly while knocking on her bedroom door. she opened the door and smiled. "yes are you ready?" josh took in her appearance. her hair was in a tight ponytail and she had on a baby blue poodle skirt and a white long sleeve skirt. he leaned against the doorway and smirked.

"who are you all dressed up for?" he teased. she rolled her eyes and pushed him out of the doorway.

after joshua dropped off his sister at school he drove to his own. he parked his car and got out and walked into the school. when joshua walked in he spotted brendon and matty standing by the stairs.

"what's up dickheads?" he said as he approached them. brendon inhaled the smoke and passed it to matty. joshua sighed. he wanted so badly to join in with them but he promised tyler he would stop. he kept his promises.

"hey mate! I haven't seen you since new years eve. how have you been?" matty asked him

joshua shrugged his shoulders. "same old same old. i've been putting in extra hours at work so I can make sure we have enough for an apartment when I turn 18." he explained.

"why don't you just ask tyler? he has more than enough to help you" brendon asked. joshua shook his head. "I don't need his money. I can do it all on my own" brendon playfully rolled his eyes but nodded in agreement.

"joshua!" he looked up and saw his tyler walking down the stairs. his eyes lit up and smiled.

"hey tyler! we will leave you two alone! see you later joshua" brendon said smiling at them before him and matty walked away. tyler waved goodbye and turned towards joshua.

"hi sweetheart. how do you make sweatpants and my crybaby jacket look so good? also am I ever gonna get that back?"

tyler blushed and scratched the back of his head. "I woke up late I had to work with what I had. also no i'm keeping it sorry not sorry" joshua laughed and smiled. "it looks better on you anyways. care to walk with me to math?" tyler's eyes were full of love as he nodded his head.

the two boys walked down the hall holding pinkies. they had passed jenna on the way and tyler gave her a dirty look. when they got to math joshua sat in his spot which was next to tyler.

"I think you should talk to jenna" tyler looked at him confused. "um why?"

joshua sighed. "because you have been best friends since you were babies. don't throw it all away because she doesn't like me."

tyler shook his head. "it's not even about that. she treats me like a baby and i'm over it"

"have you talked to her about that?" joshua asked curiously. tyler nodded his head. "yes plenty of times"

joshua sighed as he put his hands up in self defense. "I still think you should talk to her"

during lunch joshua and his friends were sitting at their usual table. tyler was with dallon and ryan, but jenna wasn't there. he felt like he ruined jenna and tyler's friendship and he couldn't live with that guilt on his shoulders.

"hey queer" a boy came up to joshua and his friends.

joshua clenched his fists. "excuse me?" he asked. the boy just smirked. joshua had no clue who he was.

"you heard me. I saw your tranny ass boyfriend today and he made me sick. I wish you guys would stop shoving your aids infected disease down our throats" joshua's eyes filled with hate as he got up and pushed the guy to the ground.

"what the fuck did you say about him?" he seethed. the boy laughed. "so you are dating him. who knew the infamous joshua dun was a fag"

joshua punched him in the jaw. "talk about me for all I care but you do not say a single word about him" he yelled. the boy tried to get ahold of joshuas face but only scratched his cheek a bit before tyler ran over and pulled joshua away.

"joshua, don't" he heard tyler cry out. he let got of the boy and looked at tyler. the principal and tyler's dad immediately came in after being told about the fight.

"mr. joseph i'm sorry he was saying awful things about tyler. i'm sorry" he whispered, tears sprung to his eyes.

tyler looked at his father. "dad" he said. chris nodded.

"alright you two come with me. everyone continue your lunch and mind your buisness." he said as him, the principal, and the two boys walked out.

tyler came over to joshua's after school and was currently cleaning the cut on joshua's cheek.

"good thing your dad was there and I didn't get in trouble" joshua said. tyler gave a stern look and put down the q-tip.

"he's not going to always be there joshua. I appreciate what you did for me but please stop getting into fights" joshua sighed. "I know i'm sorry I just got so angry at what he said to you" he said wincing whenever tyler cleaned the cut with peroxide.

"maybe we should figure out different ways you can express and relieve your anger." tyler suggested before putting a bandaid on joshua's cheek.

joshua smiled and pecked his lips. "you know I love you right? I would do anything for you"

tyler nodded. "I know. I love you too and I want to do as much as I can to keep you out of trouble. I know that's all you've known but you can be the bigger and better person. use your voice instead of your fists. one day we won't have to live in fear for being who we are but for now, we need to be as loud as possible. let people know that it is okay to love the same gender" tyler said.

joshua smiled and hugged him. "I don't deserve you. you're so smart and just the best. do you wanna lay on my uncomfortable twin sized bed with me?" he joked and tyler immediately nodded his head. "anywhere with you is comfortable"

tyler was laying on joshua's lap, joshua playing with his hair as they were talking about space. joshua believed in aliens and tyler thought he was crazy.

"joshua no they ar-why do you have a boner?" tyler joked as he felt something poking his head.

joshua blushed. "it's all that space talk. it's making me horny. i'm just kidding. you keep moving so that's why" tyler smirked and looked at him. "want me to help?"

joshua shook his head. "my sister is literally a door over. it's okay i'll just jack off when you leave" tyler scrunched up his nose. "gross" he said.

joshua rolled his eyes. "that's not what you were saying 20 seconds ago" he teased and tyler blushed and buried his face into his chest.

"shut up"

after tyler and joshua fell asleep. they woke up a couple hours and tyler had to get home. joshua walked tyler to his car and twirled him before kissing him.

"bye angel. thank you for coming over and cleaning my battle wound. i love you" he joked.

tyler quickly pecked his cheek. "bye loser. I love you too. I'll see you tomorrow at school"

joshua watched him drive away before he turned towards the door. just as he was about to opened it he heard a car pull up and a door slam.

"who the fuck was that?"
