TWENTY TWO

joshua stared at ashley and tyler in awe, the two people he cared most about were talking about books. fucking books. he was so happy that they got along that he didn't care what they talked about.

"yeah joshua doesn't like books but he still reads my poetry" his head snapped up at the mention of his name and he smiled and jumped on ashley.

"of course i read your poetry, you are the best poet i know" he said as he began attacking her with kisses. tyler sat back and smiled.

"b-bub stop your eye!" she said in between laughs. "i'm not gonna let this swollen eye stop me from loving on my little sister" joshua said as he kissed her forehead one more time before letting her go. joshua leaned back into tyler and tyler wrapped his arms around him.

"ugh i wish i had siblings you guys are so cute" tyler whined. ashley made a disgust face. "you can have mine if you want, he smells really bad" ashley joked. tyler nodded in agreement. "yeah you're right he does smell pretty bad" a look of fake hurt appeared on joshua's face. "fuck both of y'all" he moved away from tyler and crossed his arms. the two looked at eachother before going over to where joshua was and kissed his cheeks.

"we're jusstttt kidding" ashley said before they all erupted into laughter. it was quiet and joshua took a look around his house. it was disgusting. he starts to feel really embarrassed. he couldn't wait to get out of here. scratching the back of his head, joshua spoke, "i'm sorry you have to see my house like this, you can leave if you want to" tyler rolled his eyes.

"stop apologizing j, you have nothing to apologize for. i love being here. now c'mon let's watch a movie"

later that night, after tyler left and after joshua convincing tyler that he would be okay here, he was in ashley's room helping her with her math. he was explaining the problem when she cut him off.

"why haven't you asked tyler out?" she asked curiously. joshua sighed. "ash not now" he said and she shook her head. "no shut up, yeah it's illegal for homosexuals to get married but there isn't anything about dating. it's obvious you two like eachother, just ask him out already" she preached and joshua was stunned. maybe he underestimated his sister. he looked at the clock.

"it's late, you should get in bed" he said changing the subject. she sighed but got into her bed. he kissed her forehead before turning out her light and shutting her door.

the next morning, tyler was sitting with his friends, waiting to see if joshua was at school. he couldn't help but be worried. his mind was put at ease whenever he saw joshua walk in with matty. his eye was still bruised but wasn't swollen shut anymore they made eye contact and joshua smiled.

"all good?" tyler mouthed while putting a thumbs up. joshua nodded and blew him a kiss before walking away. he blushed and looked down at his jeans.

"are you guys dating yet?" jenna asked and tyler sighed and put his body back against the chair.
"no oh my gosh" tyler said dramatically. tyler was having a feeling he was never going to get asked.

"don't worry ty, i have a feeling he might soon"

i ordered one of ashleys books today :) i look up to her poetry so much
