Once we arrived at my house, I sighed grimly, bummed that the night had ended so soon. Solely because of Jasper. "I had fun, Peridot. We could definitely do something like this again." Lapis explained, giving me a small smile. I slightly smiled back, nodding as I picked up my bucket of leftover popcorn. I took my sweet ass time unbuckling my seatbelt, but as soon as it was done, I quickly opened the car door. I exited the vehicle and waved one last time to Lazuli before closing the door.

Lapis waved back through the window, and I chuckled quietly. I turned around, and hesitantly headed to my house, approaching the front door. I dug into my pockets for my keys, and eventually found them. I unlocked the front door, and opened it as quietly as possible. I was very cautious as I entered the household, making sure not to make too loud of footsteps. I very gently leaned my back against the door to close it. "WHICH OFFICER IS IT?!" I fell against the door, causing it to slam shut. My heart nearly pounded out of my chest after hearing the echo of Jasper's holler.

I looked down at my now spilled popcorn all over the floor. "Look what you did, you dumbass bitch." I grumbled, glaring up at Jasper angrily. I was gonna eat that! "I'm not cleaning that up." she then stated, and I walked right past her to the staircase. "Neither am I." I deadpanned. "Hey! Get your ass back over here! We need to talk." Jasper demanded, and I only halted for a moment.

"Which officer are you seeing, Peridot? I need to know! I tried searching for her tonight but I ended up getting the wrong cop! I'm gonna end up getting arrested next because of you!" she growled, and I only rolled my eyes. "Or, you could maybe just... stop looking. Mind your damn business." I stated, before walking up the stairs. "Amethyst is in jail, you dumbass!" Jasper protested, and I looked down for a moment. "It's all your fault. Don't you want to fix that? Don't you want her to have her freedom?" she asked, and I hadn't responded right away.

"She's my sister, Peridot. She's your best friend. How could you not care about something like that?" she asked, and I felt a lump form in my throat. "I do care, Jasper. But I'm no sneaking backstabber bastard. We are just gonna have to bail her out or something. We have enough money." I explained lowly, gripping the railing of the stairs. "Also, how could you say she's my best friend?! I don't remember her doing anything best friend-y, Jasper!" I argued, and Jasper scoffed. "What do you mean?!" she asked in a cracky voice. "She has only asked me for favors. She never follow through for me! I feel like the only reason I'm her friend in the first place is to get someone else to do her mission for her." I grumbled.

"You know that's not true, Peridot. Amethyst is a loyal friend, and you know it. She would never snitch on you, she would never deceive you, and she would definitely never have left you behind to get HIT BY A CAR, AND ARRESTED!" Jasper raised her voice, and I tensed up. A heavy feeling stung in my chest, and it was ever burning as the lump in my throat grew larger. "I DIDN'T KNOW SHE WAS GONNA GET HIT!!" I cried, turning my head to look back at Jasper. "What about arrested?! Hm?! You left her to deal with the cops herself! You only cared about yourself!" Jasper shouted, and I stared her straight in the eyes.

"I just don't understand what could possibly be going through your mind, to make you think you have done nothing wrong." she stated, staring at me for one more long moment. I stared back, but couldn't any longer after about 4 seconds. With that, Jasper left the room into the kitchen without another word. I slowly walked up to my bedroom, thinking deeply about everything. I slammed the door behind me, and flopped onto my bed.

I felt tears prick the edges of my eyes, and I sniffled quietly. What now? What now?! I wrapped my arms around my pillow tightly for moment, and sighed sadly. I'm sorry, Amethyst. My phone then began to buzz, and I looked over at it, resting on the bed beside. I turned it over, and the caller ID read 'Lapis'. My heart skipped a beat, and my eyes widened. I sniffled and roughly rubbed my nose with the back of my hand, attempting to regain my composure. I pressed answer.

"H-hello?"

"Hey, Peridot!"

"O-oh hey! What's up, L-Lapis?"

"I just wanted to say how much fun I had. My shift doesn't start for another three and a half hours, but I had a feeling you may have been in danger out there. I felt the need to take you home."

"O-oh, n-no no I'm fine. Just a little conflict, like I said."

"Sorry, I just get a lil' worried is all, heh."

"Aww, that's sweet."

"Yeah, yeah whatever."

"I just had another fall out with my same friend, and I've kinda just been chilling in my room."

"Oh, I'm sorry about that. Do you wanna talk about it?"

Did I wanna talk about it?

"Ah, I dunno, there's not exactly much to talk about, really. Just another argument about... friend issues. It got pretty heated."

"That sucks. You know, you can come over to my place if you want."

"No, no I refuse to be such a burden. I'll be fine here at home."

"No, no, I insist. I know it hasn't been long, but I wanna see you again. I miss you already, heh."

"Well, I guess only if you insist. I'll sneak out, and I'll head over. Is that cool?"

"Perfect."

"Okay, bye Lapis."

"Seeya soon."

WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST DO?! You plan on fucking sneaking out?! You are a sneaky bastard, after all Peridot! What is wrong with you?! I mentally cursed myself as I sat there hugging my pillow for a good five minutes. Maybe it was just an offer. A kind offer. Like optional! I don't have to go, right?! I can just bail!

Oh, who am I kidding? I'm not gonna bail.

Hey. This aint technically a authors-note but I just wanna apologize for the late update. I was busy. - Paris
