"How the hell are we gonna jump or climb that high to the prison yard?" I asked, staring at the large brick wall in front of us. "Just trust me, Peridot. We have a plan." Jasper replied, staring at the same wall. We were at the prison, and just over this brick wall was the prison yard, which was our ticket into the cells through the door. "We figured out the plan back at the house! It bothers me that you didn't care to include me in the whole, y'know, ENTRY part of this plan!" I grumbled, crossing my arms. "Oh, you're included alright." Jasper stated, her head tipping back a little as she looked up at the top of the brick wall.

"What? How?" I asked, tilting my head. "You're gonna be the distraction." the tall woman stared down at me, and I felt my stomach drop. "WHAT?! WH-WHY ME?!" I screeched, and Jasper shot forward to clamp a large hand over my mouth. I shook my head, angrily shoving her hand off of my face. "Shhh!" Jasper held her finger up to her lips, and I huffed. "Why do I have to be the distraction?! Why can't you do it?!" I whisper-shouted.

"Because once again, you're the reason Amethyst is in jail in the first place. Therefore, you get the riskiest job." Jasper explained, putting her hands on her hips. "But she's your sister! Wouldn't you wanna risk your life twice as much if she were ever in danger?" I asked anxiously. "Don't try and weasel your way outta this, dude. Just do it." she said, furrowing her eyebrows. I glared up at Jasper, lowly growling. "So I need you to run over there, and shoot your gun in the air as soon as I give the signal." she explained.

"And what the fuck am I supposed to do once I actually grab the police's attention?!" I asked, shoving my hand into my pocket to feel my pistol. "Hope you're a fast runner." Jasper chuckled, placing her hands on the brick wall, feeling it for some reason. "You think this is a joke?! I could literally be arrested for this!" I protested. "Peridot, you have exceptional stamina. You'll do fine." Jasper assured.

"THE COPS ARE ALSO TRAINED TO HAVE eXcEpTiOnAL STAMINA!" I whisper shouted. "If you get arrested, we'll just do the same thing we're doing for Amethyst." she claimed. "That's not very reassuring at all." I grumbled, looking out to the area Jasper had pointed to. "Go now! We don't have much time!" Jasper whispered, shoving me towards the street. I stumbled and yelped in response, turning to shoot her a death stare.

"Hurry up! Go go GO!!" she waved me off, and I whimpered as I looked forward again. I ran across the street, and pulled out my pistol. I slowly cocked it, and I felt my hands begin to tremble. You can do this. You can do this. Do it for Amethyst. Do it for your best friend. I stared down at the gun nervously, and my knees grew weak. I slowly tipped my head back up to look at Jasper, and she stared at me. She then pointed at me and jumped up and down. "NOW" she mouthed, and a whimper escaped my throat.

I took a deep breath, and pointed my gun up at the sky. I shut my eyes tightly, and gritted my teeth as I pulled the trigger. My legs immediately took off as soon as the gun shot, and I headed as far away as possible from where the bullet could land. "HEY!!" I heard a voice shout, and I began to run faster. I soon heard footsteps in the distance behind me, and I tried to run as fast humanly possible. My lungs began to ache, and I groaned loudly.

I also heard several gunshots in the distance, which was probably Jasper. I heard my phone buzz loudly in my pocket over my violent wheezing, and I yanked out the device. I continued running as fast as I could as I looked down at it.

Aquamarine: THE FUZZ IS AFTER YOU. BOOK IT.

Oh thanks, Aqua, you're a lifesaver. I lowered my phone and looked back up, but screamed as I was merely three feet away from a trash can. I attempted to swerve my body, but instead slightly slipped, and banged my hip against the can. I stumbled, and tried to keep on my feet, which slowed me down. I jolted forward and screeched in agony as I felt a sheer pain shoot through my whole body. Something had...stuck on my lower back?

I felt completely stunned, and involuntarily froze in my tracks, falling over face -first. I twitched, and groaned as I was unable to move on the ground. I tried to scream for help, or do anything, but something was physically resisting me. They tazed me. I panicked violently in my head as I used all of my might to try and get anywhere, or do anything, but I failed. I remained frozen for a little while longer, I wasn't counting seconds...or minutes. But I felt someone approach me, and I whimpered again.

I eventually came back to my senses, and squirmed a little bit. "N-NO!!" I screeched, trying to run away once again, but the cop pinned me back down. They pinned my arms behind my back, and began to handcuff. "NO NO NO PLEASE!!" I screamed, starting to thrash. "Finally got you, you little bastard." the cop grunted, and I recognized that voice. It was Lapis. My eyes widened, and I stared down at the pavement sorrowfully, feeling my body press against the cold ground.

Lapis then lifted me up to my feet, and yanked my hood down. I tried to turn my face away, but she grabbed my chin and directed it back to facing her. My eyes welled up with tears as I saw the expression on Lapis' face.
