"Girlfriend?! I.. I don't know." Elysa trembled a little , " we just met Wes."

What did I think, why would she say yes, no one has said yes.

I was crazy to think positively. It always ends up so negatively.

"It's okay," I mumbled getting up slowly, heading for the door.

"Not at the moment Wes maybe later." I nodded, opening the door to leave, realising that I had entered the girl's bathroom.

"Wes." El sternly called back and when I turned around she smiled comfortably, "I'll think about it okay?"

I shrugged. I couldn't help but feel a bit tired, like all my energy had suddenly been drained.

"Hey bro, you okay? You look really tired." Kadence linked her arm through mine, searching my face curiously. Can people just stop asking if I'm okay?!

It's not like I'm suddenly going to get sick. GEEZ.

"I'm the same person I was several hours ago Kadence." I pulled my arm from her grip heading to class, secretly hoping I would be able to stay awake.

"Catch the ball Wesley, like this", dad cupped his hands in the shape of a circle. I did the same, and as he threw the tennis ball to me I leaped up and caught it. "I did it daddy." "Good job Wes." He lifted me up, and grunted, taking me down slowly. He clutched his heart, struggling to breath. "Are you okay daddy?" I held onto his leg tightly. "Daddy's okay, he's just a bit tired." He stroked my hair, and this comforted me.  I loved this day.

"Mr Lemonia, would you like to explain to the class what Newton's first law of motion is?" I awoke startled, and saw the whole class staring at me.

"Or do you love this day too much that you can't focus in class?" Shit, did I sleep talk. I hope I didn't say everything.

"Newton's first law of motion is that an object will remain at a constant speed or rest ,unless it is acted on by an outside unbalanced force." Elysa chipped in quickly, she turned to look at me and winked.

"Thank you miss Mandora, but I was asking Wesley." The teacher returned to the front still burning holes through my skull. "You can have detention, falling asleep in my class is unacceptable."

I grunted, great, now I have detention.

For the rest of the class I tried to keep my focus, even though my eyes threatened to close any second soon.

Sport is my favourite, out of all subjects.

Turns out today's lesson is a downer, we're running. "Can everyone please line up, for the 100 meters practice race." The sports teacher calls out to all this students.

I line up beside Elysa, we get shoved towards each other, our hands accidentally touching, and I apologised.

She just scoffs, smiling. At least she doesn't mind.

"On your marks, get set, GO!" The teacher shouts and we take off, Elysa and me running at the same speed.

We rounded the bend, and I couldn't help but check her out, she has perfect legs, no wonder her turns were sharp.

I started to slow down, my legs refusing to go any further. My legs cramped up, causing me to topple to the ground. The joints between my leg and thigh, pained so much I couldn't help but yell.

Elysa was the first beside me, placing a hand on my back, trying to get the teachers to come. My breaths came rasp and short, I almost couldn't breath, like I had asthma.

"Wesley take it nice and slow, deep breaths." Elysa comforted me, I nodded taking deep subtle breaths with her. She was so close, we had started sharing air.

Then it all ended in a split second.

******

She was on- top of me, with her lips on mine, but she wasn't kissing me she was giving me CPR. Teachers were watching, some running around clearing room for the ambulance.

She noticed I was awake, immediately getting off me, she looked embarrassed . I feel like vomiting.

I tried to vomit, But I couldn't. It just came out like a cough, a bloody red cough. A tissue was handed to me and I coughed into it. I opened the tissue, eyes  widened, I had just coughed out blood.

Trembling, I swore underneath my breath, "What the hell is happening to me?" I quivered feeling cold.

"I'm not sure Wes,but I'm here. The ambulance are on their way." She rubbed my back gently, humming softly.

It felt somewhat familiar.

"Please sing for me." I looked into her eyes, she smiled and nodded.

Her voice was like an angel's, she was so gorgeous. But her voice was drowned by the loud sirens of the ambulance.

I was taken away, like a prisoner as I was gently hauled onto the paramedics bed and wheeled into the truck. The drive was long, lonely and painful.

And I feared the worst. What is wrong with me?

********

The nurse held a clipboard, her face looking pale, not from stress but from concern. She stared at me and re acted right away.

"I've called your parents, they're on their way." She said, looking around nervously.

"What is-" I started my voice rasp, and croaking but she cut me off.

"Don't talk, take it easy."

I frowned, I just want to know what's wrong with me. But I fear that what I think I have is what I actually have.

The doors burst open and mum burst through the door tears streaming down her face. She came towards me, gently stroking my face "How's my baby boy? You feeling better? Still sick, do you need water?"

I gently held my mum's hand ,"I'm fine mum,I just want to know what's wrong with me. Am I going to live?"

Mum directed her attention to the nurse and she nodded, biting her lip bitterly.

"Wesley, there is a chance that you are won't be living for much longer."
