We landed on what seemed to be an all to perfect island. Precisely in the middle stood a huge mountain.

"Willow, what are we doing here?" I asked as she walked ahead towards a cave set into the rock face. Looking around I found no animals, pushing my mind out towards the forest behind and around the mountain I found no living creature only plants. But when my mind went to explore the cave I was met by a strange power, so great I couldn't overcome it and was blocked out.

“It looks exactly the same.” She whispered in dragonese spinning around her wings fanned out next to her. I ducked my head and neck low to avoid her powerful wings.

“Willow,” I said louder this time as she muttered to herself looking here and there before finally turning back to the mountain. She transformed and slung the satchel containing the heavy leather bound books from her shoulder. I transformed as well and stumbled as I tried to run over to her. It was a weird sensation walking on two legs after having four and a pair of wings for a while. I regained balance and went swiftly to Willows side as she bent over a book. It was written in some language I couldn’t understand; it seemed to be the same one she had written in the dirt with. “Come look at this.” She said opening a smaller book and skipping through a few blank pages. Somewhere around the middle was a page covered with about 10 different symbols.

“Hey, I know those!” I said recognizing them from the old meeting table on my island.

“I know, I copied them down the first time I went to Isulam Brevi.” She explained turning over the next page in the booklet, “these are the translations, and if you go in a easterly direction the symbols ask a question.” She said pointing to the symbols in turn and telling me their names and what they meant. “Identity, or name, so it asks what is your name, who are you, that means more than just your name, your personality and the last few put together are asking what you seek.”

“So,” I began slightly confused, “if I were to ask the question it would be what is you name, who are you and what do you seek?”

“Yes.”

“Ok, and what does this have to do with anything?” I said raising my eyebrows at her.

“You’ll see.” She said walking over to the cave, I sighed and ran to catch up with her.

Inside the cave dried leaves scattered the ground and there were a few scorch marks on the floor, a smiled tugged at Willows lip as though the marks brought back memories. We walked further into the cave, which I had thought was quite shallow at first but seemed to just keep going. We came to an enormous corridor lit by flaming basins so bright they offered few shadows to hide. . My hair flopped down over my eyes a bit as a breeze picked up coming from inside the corridor. We were getting further inside the mountain, yet somehow air was travelling through.

“Stop,” Willow whispered peering nervously around us. “Change.”

Willow breathed out deeply closed her eyes. I felt like I was invading her privacy, but I couldn’t help but look as she grew into the powerful beast that was different yet the same as the shy Willow I had first met, the Willow who had spoken out in dragonese, revealed her identity, and trusted me. ‘Snap out of it’ I thought to myself actually looking away this time and transformed myself. Once we both wore a skin of glittering scales, Willow began to move forward down the tunnel, me following.

“Maybe I should go first?” I said wanting to be in front, to protect her if necessary.

“Shh.” She growled her movements sharp and alert as we came to a room with several dark passage ways.
