Hiccup's P.O.V

The past two days have been full of vigorous training exercises, I swear the initiates almost dropped dead.

“I know you have all been really tired,” they groaned in agreement, “so I have decided to give you the next few days off, in that time I would like you to practice, just some simple flying.” I had expected fist punching, but their reaction was pretty dull. Guess they were too tired to even do that. The four initiates walked slowly out of the arena, a few had their dragons supporting them.

“Riders!” I called once the initiates had left. “Night duty!”

I figured that the gang were slightly out of practice as I had been using most of my time on the initiates, and extra was spent with Gobber, preparing for the upcoming attack. But I was surprised when they were all wide awake and flew perfect, moving in perfect sync with their dragons. Almost as good as me an Toothless.. almsost:D

“I'm pretty sure I didn't train them that well!” I said astonished, someone punched my shoulder. “Owww!”

“I did!” Astrid asked swinging back into Stormfly’s saddle. “We can’t have the good riders off game!”

“You’re amazing, you know that.” I beamed up at her.

She shook her head, “you’re the amazing one here, training new riders from scratch, managing the island, preparing for an attack.”

“Well the new riders traing isn’t exactly going well.” I admitted.

“Hiccup,” Astrid sighed, man she read me like a book. “You can’t expect them to suddleny soar up to our level, it took us years to be like this, they’ve had a few days!”

“I know, but…. I just wish it wasn’t this hard.” I grumbled feeling slightly whiny.

“Life isn’t easy Hiccup, you of all people should know that.”

Skylar’s P.O.V

In my defence, the net came out of nowhere! I can sense living things, not string knotted together!

Anyway, a net came out of nowhere just as we were crossing an island. Great timing!

Naturally we all fell like rocks. I roared, trying to get my wings free. Suddenly Sapphire latched her claws on to my net tearing it into shreds. Tip: don’t try and contain Timberjacks in nets, they have razor sharp wings. I flapped my wings quickly gaining altitude. Another net flew past me.

“Into the clouds, so they can’t get us!” I roared to Sapphire and Felix. They followed my lead soaring up into the clouds as fast as humanly possibly… well dragonly possible.

“That was close!” I gasped.

“Who were they?” Felix asked. I shrugged… sort of. What! It’s hard shrugging when you shoulders are connected to wings that just so happen to be keeping you from plummeting to the earth.

“I don’t know, but I’m gonna find out!” Sapphire roared angling down.

“Sapphire!” Felix growled angrily soaring down as well.

“Am I the only one smart enough to stay here?” I asked the clouds. “I guess not.” I muttered soaring down as well… I think it was down, it’s hard to tell with clouds.

“Get off my foot.” Growled Sapphire softly as I stumbled up next to the pair of Timberjacks.

“Sorry.” I whispered.

“It’s some kind of camp.” Felix said quietly.

“Well what are we going to d-“ I was interrupted by a cold voice.

“You won’t be doing anything.”

I spun around, my lips lifting off my razor sharp teeth in a snarl.

A dragon was standing in front of us, it was slightly smaller than me.

Silver. A shapeshifter.

“We can take him.” I whispered to my companions. Another 5 silver dragons stepped form behind him. “Never mind.” I said weakly.

“You go in front.” on said gesturing in front of the leader. We were outnumbered, leaving us no choice. I walked in front, my whole body stiff from the tension of the situation.

“Don’t try anything.” Said the leader. I heard Sapphire yelp as one of the silvers nipped her hind leg.

“Get your claws off her!” Snarled Felix. They chuckled slightly, allowing Felix to go last.

‘You ok?’ I asked them.

‘Not sure whether we will be.’ Sapphire said weakly. I had never heard her like that, she was my fearsome friend, she never got scared.

‘Were going to be ok’ Felix said confidently.

‘Yeah, sure we will’ I said not entirely convinced.

“We found these ones in the forest master.” Said one of the dragons pushing us forward onto out knees. I got up only to be pushed down again.

“Ahhh very good.”

I froze… to stunned to move…. I knew that voice.

Looked up slightly to see the speakers face. A hiss left my mouth.

“You, shifter, change, let us see you!”

I obliged.

I stood up, keeping my head hung so that he couldn’t see my face.

“Who are you?” He asked.

I didn’t reply, a slight smile coming across my face.

“Well, are you mute?”

“No…. brother.” I hissed through my teeth, snapping my head up and staring straight into the eyes that had changed so much in 6 years.
