Thud

I groaned rapping the pillow around my ears.

Thud

Thud

Unfortunately thin pillows stuffed with feathers aren't exactly sound proof.

Thud

Thud

"For the sake of the gods!" I shouted throwing the covers off and marching out of my room. I stomped to Skylar's room. Who the hell designed this house so that the end of Skylar's room was the same wall as the start of mine?

"Will you please shut up?!" I exclaimed opening his door.

Skylar looked up surprised.

"What?" He asked. He was lying on the bed one arm behind his head the other twirling a knife. He didn't have a shirt on. I remembered involuntarily the first time I had met him when he had read my thoughts while I had been telling myself not to look at his abs.  Man that had been embarrassing. Well at least I could now control who went into my mind, I would know if he started reading my thoughts again.

"The knives," I said walking over to the wall were several knives stuck out of the wall. I pulled one out and pointed it at him. "When you throw the knives at this wall," I said tapping it behind me "I can hear everything!"

"Sorry." He seemed so lost in thought that I couldn't be mad at him. "I'll stop now, you can get some more sleep."

"Doesn’t matter now." I muttered walking over to a table by the window and placed the knife down. There was a faint pink haze lining the horizon outside the window. I turned back and gestured for Skylar to move over on the bed. He shuffled over. I lay next to him propping my head against the headboard. I began fiddling with the corner of my cotton shirt. I looked at him and found him staring at the knife as though it was some great puzzle that he couldn't figure out.

"Sky I know something's on your mind, why won't you tell me." I felt him stiffen as I called him by his nickname. "Sorry...Skylar."

"It's ok, I just haven't gotten used to someone calling my that."

"What's wrong?" I asked again. I glared at him until he sighed in defeat.

"During the battle today," he began "I was knocked of Sapphire, as I fell, I accidentally intercepted an arrow meant for the dragon behind me. It went really deep onto my arm." I pulled it out and instantly it began to close up. This is it now." He pointed to a white scar on his arm that definitely hadn't been there before. Not that I notice of anything.

"How's that possible." I asked wondering if he had told the truth.

"Like this." He said drawing the knife across his palm. I reacted quickly snatching the knife away, but I saw to late, he had sliced a dangerously deep cut across his palm.

"Skylar!" I screamed throwing the knife away and gripping his hand to stop the bleeding. Warm blood was seeping through my fingers. I swallowed a whimper.

"Willow, it's ok you can let go." He said calmly.

I shook my head swallowing as I applied pressure to his hand. Slowly he pried my fingers away from his hand. I held my breath not wanting to see the gaping flesh. Only there wasn't any, as I watch the cut was closing up, drawing blood back in. Skylar guided my hand back to his and whipped the blood from my hand onto his which disappeared. Soon both are hands were clear of blood.

He flexed his fingers showing me his healed hand.  I shook my head; I was speechless. I picked up his hand and examined the white line.

"If it works for us..." I thought putting the pieces together
