Felicia stared at her reflection in the mirror. Her performance was due today and somehow, nervousness hasn't sweeped over her yet. The bright lights around the mirror made every blemish on her face visible. She looked down at the make up brush in her hands, contemplating whether to continue her make up or let it be as it was already heavy. Her finally moved the brush against the surface of the compact powder. She applied it on her cheeks and gave her face some final touches.
She set her hair with a bit of water and gave her mirror one last look. The heavy make up still hadn't covered the little pimple that appeared on her face some days ago. She scrunched her nose again, out of habit, as if doing that action will make her pimple disappear. Her plump lips didn't need so much lipstick as they were already pink enough. While her eyes didn't need any eye lashes extensions or sort of things like that. They were ling enough to the point they were almost touching the edge of her eyebrows which were perfectly in shape as well.
She adjusted her blue glitterly dress along with a pair of her black leggings when she heard someone yell, "Felicia! You're on next!" Felicia had taken in a deep breath closing her eyes for a moment and letting peace fill her mind. With one little move, she was out if her seat and on her way into the stage. Her mind didn't understand how she was even moving forward, but yet her body seemed to be very active and excited for the performance. She saw Ms.Spark on the back stage, just behind the curtains. She mouthed a small good luck before opening the curtains, allowing Felicia to step on to the stage.
Felicia stepped onto the wooden stage, now bright with the spotlight pointing right at her. A huge amount of audience along with their phones, looked like stars in the night sky, giving a sense of comfort to Felicia. She felt a smile plaster on her face and for once, Felicia loved the adrenaline of all the people's attention towards her. It must have been the effect of her fearless experience with Jason.
Jason.
That one name was enough to set her free. She thought of Jason's carelessness and slowly decided to instill it in herself. Her lips started to filter out her dialogued while her body continued its needed actions.
"Let the journey begin." She spoke her first dialogue, excited as it helped her relate to her growth as to how she had gained the confidence to perform.
This play was going to be a long one yet the first time something like this that has ever been exciting to Felicia.

Felicia bowed down, which was followed by the rather large applause and enthusiasm shown by the audience. She turned her head to the side and noticed a small line of other participants who played different roles in the play. Their faces were showing a feeling of pride, confidence, and excitement. This time, Felicia was not afraid to show the same mix of feelings. She had not once shivered nor had she gotten nervous while performing and for this, she had the right to display those feelings.
She slowly felt herself open up. She grinned widely as all the participants went on to join their hands and bow down one final time. The person beside her was a petite girl like Felicia and Felicia went on to hold her hand while carefully not failing to raise it with a feeling of victory like she had achieved something.
But she did achieve something.
She was slowly starting to overcome her shyness.
A few moments later, the host of their performance had come up on stage to speak a few words while Felicia took this time to search for two familiar faces in the crowd, her mom and dad. It didn't take long before she found her parents in the crowd who were already starting at her and waving while trying to take some pictures, which indicated that they were trying to get her attention for a long time. She chuckled at the thought and happily at them. Her mom was short compared to her dad and therefore held onto him to get a better view of their daughter. The hardship her mom goes through even in the smallest movements made Felicia feel incredible. She saw them putting their thumbs up, gesturing her how well she did today. Felicia smiled and mouthed, "Thank You."
