Vic's POV

Alan bit his lip and fixed my tie carefully. I was about to head to the other side of town for my outreach work and he was not exactly excited about me doing that.

"Vincent, this isn't a good idea," he said again and I gave him a small smile.

"Babe, nothing is going to happen," I told him.

"You don't know that."

"I do, just trust me."

"I trust you, but I know that side. I don't trust the people."

"I've been going for weeks," I told him.

"I know."

"So it's going to be okay," I said, brushing hair out of his face.

"What if Jack does something to you?"

"I'll call the police."

"Vince, he'll kill you."

"Ash, I'll be okay."

He let out a sigh. "Okay, go help people," he said finally and gave me a kiss.

"I love you," I told him.

"I love you, too and be careful."

"I will be and if anything happens, you'll be the first person I call."

"Got it."

I smiled and gave him a kiss. "I'll see you later," I told him and headed out of the house. I got in my car and made my way to the other side of town. When I got there, I quickly got to work, there were more people this time. There were always more people but, I was starting to run out of supplies and couldn't keep supplying things without the church funding me.  I needed the funding, but I didn't really know if they'd keep going for this.

I couldn't just give up on this, though, I had to do something. I'd have to start looking for other ways to fund this. Maybe fundraising, or hopefully, I could get the church board to agree to do this. It would be so much easier if they just supported my idea. I mean it was going great as of now.

Hopefully, they would soon. I was going to talk to them all at the next church board meeting to decide if they thought it was a good plan or not. I mean, the last church service, I had more of the people from this side of town there than ever before. I felt like my message was spreading and that's all I could want.

I just wanted to help people and I was, I was helping so many. It was crazy how fast the word would get around. I started handing things out to people, making sure to slip church flyers with everything I handed out. It was normal and I was starting to learn more about the people who would talk to me too.

"What do you think you're doing here?" I heard someone demanded and before I knew it, literally everyone scattered.

I turned around seeing Jack standing there glaring at me.

"Crap," I muttered.

"Get out of here."

"You don't own this street, you know," I told him, shoving my hands in my pockets.

"Think I don't? I can do what I want here."

"Really?"

"Yeah," He said, "You know you have something I want and that's my property."

"You can't own people," I told him.

"Well I own him because I saved him."

"Then by that logic, I own him because I saved him from you," I countered, even if I didn't believe in this logic whatsoever.
