Alan's POV
I showed up to church with Vic for his last sermon ever or at least until the board approved someone to replace him, but from what Vic was telling me they already had found someone to replace him. It was a little bittersweet for Vic and I could tell. He didn't like doing this, but he also didn't like that he was disappointing his parents either.
"I'll find you, okay?" I said as Vic and I sat in his office alone. "I'll be in the sea of people as always and I'm gonna talk to my parents today."
Vic sniffed a little and nodded his head. "I'll be looking at you the entire time."
I nodded and gave him quick kiss, "I love you."
"I love you too," he said. "You know, you should sit where the pastor's wife sits," he teased.
"And where is that?"
"On the stage in that fancy looking chair next to the pulpit."
"I'm not sitting up there."
"Baby please?" He whined. "This is my last day as Pastor and I want it to go out with a bang."
"How about I bang you later?"
"We can do that too," he said with red cheeks.
I smiled and kissed him again, "We shouldn't talk about this stuff in a church though."
"Who cares? I'm not going to be coming back here anytime soon," he said and kissed me once more before he checked the time. "Now, come on, do you want to talk to your parents before or after service?"
"I'll do it after at lunch remember," I said, "But I think we're gonna have a lot of fun at home tonight."
"Yeah, why do you think that?" He asked, taking my hand and led me out of his office.
"Because I love you and I love being a sinner with you," I joked.
"I love you too," he said.
"You gotta love me, you're stuck with me."
"I mean I don't consider it being stuck," he mused and started walking up to the stage, his hand still in mine. "Sit down."
"You're really gonna make me sit up here?" I whined.
He kissed my forehead in front of the entire congregation. "I am. It's the only time you ever will, my love."
I nodded, "I'm doing this because I love you."
"I love you too," he said and went up to the pulpit. I smiled at him before I got comfy as he started the sermon. "How is everyone today?" He asked and gave them an awkward smile. "You've all probably heard the news, but I'm going to tell you all anyway and maybe dispel some rumors going around in the church. After today, I am stepping down from my position as pastor. I am also engaged to this beautiful man right here. And, while I see no problem in me being in love with a man who is honestly the most amazing man I have ever met, I understand that the church board and a few members of my church are not very okay with this. So, after today, I will no longer be pastor. Until the board gets the new pastor sworn in, my father will resume his previous position. Now, I would like to cordially invite any of you who would like to come, to my and Alan's wedding september eighteenth."
I blushed. He was so amazing and I couldn't wait to get married to him. Vic eventually went into his sermon and I just crossed my legs and watched him, I honestly couldn't care less about the preaching, I just loved watching him. He made everything he said sound so interesting and I loved that.
When he finished preaching he looked at me and smiled. "You ready to go, my love?"
"Ready when you are. I just need my jacket from your office," I said taking his hand in mine.
