The beginning of the week is always a time for reflection, and all Sophia was reflecting on was that she had sex with her good friend Archie Andrews, the ex-boyfriend of her other good friend Veronica Lodge. It was all that had played on her mind throughout the night before, so she hadn't got much sleep. She had never felt so much remorse after sleeping with someone. She didn't regret it - Archie was hot, lovely and a damn good shag. But she was feeling guilty.
"Wow, you look awful." Tom said as he walked into her room before she had done her make-up.
"Thanks, Tom," she said sarcastically. "What's up?"
"Mum and dad have gone to work. What do you want for breakfast?" He asked.
"Just some toast please," she replied.
When she went downstairs a while later, he handed her a plate.
"That's better," he said. "Why did you look so down anyway?"
"Let's talk about it on the way to school, we're gonna be late." Sophia said. They locked up the house and started the walk. "So, yesterday when I went to Archie's we ended up having sex."
"I figured that's what happened." Tom nodded. "So, what's the issue? He's cool."
"I feel guilty. I need to tell Veronica." Sophia said.
"Is that a good idea?" Tom asked.
"It doesn't matter. I have to tell her." She shook her head. "I hate Monday's."
When the Putnam's got to school, Sophia went out to the field where she knew the Bulldogs would be. They were already talking about the weekend.
"So, you and V looked cosy." Reggie said to Nate.
"You could say that." Nate nodded. "We ended up banging."
"Who ended up banging?" Moose asked, as he and Archie joined the group.
"Nate and Veronica." One of the other Bulldogs said.
Chuck hit him. "Sorry, Archie. It was Saturday night."
"It's fine." Archie said with a shrug. "I got with Soph yesterday anyway."
"Speaking of the devil." Moose gestured to where Sophia was walking over to them. They all stood back as she came over, hands on her hips.
"Boys."
"Sophia."
"How was your tryst with the heartthrob?" Reggie asked her.
"It was fantastic, thanks." Sophia said.
"Out of everyone, who's been the best?" Chuck asked with a laugh.
"Oh, I couldn't pit you all against each other. I will say you've all been better than 80% of the guys in England," she said. "Arch, can I speak to you?"
"Sure, Soph," he said.
"Hey, no funny business under the bleachers." Moose joked as they walked away.
"Sophia, I'm sorry I shouldn't have told them-" Archie started.
"Wow, you apologise a lot." Sophia laughed lightly. "I don't care that you told them. I just thought I should tell you that I'm telling Ronnie."
"Well, seeing as she had a rendezvous of her own this weekend, I doubt she'll be too angry." Archie said.
"You heard about Nate?" Sophia asked.
"Yeah, I did," he nodded. "He's never exactly quiet about his conquests."
"Right. Well, I'm gonna try catch her before first period." Sophia said.
"Alright, catch you later." Archie saluted.
"Bye, Arch." She waved, walking back into school.
Veronica was sat with Betty, Cheryl and Toni in the lounge. Sophia walked in quickly scoping them out.
"Hey girl." Toni said.
"Hi." Sophia said. "V, can I talk to you in private please?"
"Everything okay?" Veronica asked.
"Yeah, I just need to speak to you. We won't be long girls." Sophia said.
"Okay, see you later." Cheryl said.
Sophia led Veronica to the Blue and Gold offices, closing the door behind them.
"What's wrong?" Veronica asked as she sat down.
"I'm a bad friend." Sophia said.
"What?! Why?" Veronica asked.
"I slept with Archie. I wasn't going to at first, and then someone said something that made me think I could and then next thing I was and I'm just so sorry Ronnie, I'm a horrible friend and a horrible person, I-" Sophia was interrupted by Veronica putting her hand on hers.
"Soph, calm down, it's okay. Archie and I are broken up, he's fair game. And I got with Nate, so I can't exactly be annoyed that he's also been with someone else. If anything, I'm glad it was with you and not some random girl he'd regret it with." Veronica shrugged.
"You're really not mad?"
"Of course not. Now, come on, let's go back to the girls."
"Okay."
The two girls walked arm-in-arm back to the lounge.
"Everything okay?" Betty asked.
"Everything's fine." Sophia gave a relieved smile.
