Sophia led the way with all of them, Sweet Pea, Fangs, Toni, Cheryl, Tom, Archie, Veronica, Reggie, Jughead, Betty, Chuck, Josie, Moose and Kevin, following to the pool house.
"Wow. Fred did such a good job." Sophia said, opening it up and exploring. There was a small kitchenette, a bathroom and a large lounge/games area.
"My dad did this? And knew about it?" Archie asked.
"Local source tradesmen are the way forward, Archie." Tom said.
"Well, let's get ready and jump in." Toni said.
While some of the others were fighting over the bathroom to get changed, Sophia and Sweet Pea both had the same idea to strip down to the swimsuits they had underneath their clothes, Sophia in a hot pink bikini, Sweet Pea in his trunks.
"Shall we?" He asked.
"It would be rude not to." Sophia smiled, and they both ran outside, jumping into the pool. Sweet Pea grabbed Sophia, holding her up and then throwing her in again. "PEA!" She squealed.
Sweet Pea was laughing loudly. "Your face was a picture."
The others joined them and they all splashed about, messing around together. They had a few of the drinks that they had brought from the party.
"A toast to the Putnam's." Jughead raised his cup. "Thank you so much for all of this. I don't know we'll ever repay you."
"Just never kick me out of the Serpents." Tom joked.
"And I'll take cuddles from whoever you want to donate to me." Soph joked.
"You can have Sweet Pea." Fangs said.
"You don't want to suggest yourself then?" Reggie asked.
"With Soph you might get more than a cuddle." Chuck said with a chuckle and a wink.
"Well, I'm sure Sweet Pea can handle her." Betty said.
"You would know." Veronica said with a wink.
"Come on now, let's play a game or something." Archie said.
"What do you suggest?" Toni asked.
"How about some good old fashioned truth." Veronica said. "Ones that we all have to answer so we can all get to know each other just a little bit more."
That's what they did. They all answered questions about their childhood, their first kisses, first times, their fears and their greatest times. The others asked Sophia and Tom a lot about London, and they asked them about Riverdale and Veronica about New York. They all compared different anecdotes from their childhood and a lot of things that they had all done as they grew up with each other and apart.
After an hour or so, they all got out of the pool and got dressed so they could go back to the main party. They had some more drinks with the rest of the Serpents, and chilled and danced with everyone.
While Sophia was dancing, one of the other guests went over and started to dance with her. She didn't think anything of it, and danced along. He put his hand on her arm.
"Sophia, right?"
"Yeah. And you are?" She asked.
"Frankie," he replied. "Want to go get a drink?"
"Yeah, why not." She smiled, and they went to do a few shots and grab another drink, before joining the dance floor again.
The party continued way into the night, everyone dancing and talking and having a good time. Everyone got substantially drunk. People had coupled off, Varchie, Bughead and Choni as per usual, also Reggie and Josie, and Frankie had kept going back and finding Sophia, taking her drinks and dancing close with her.
"Is it just me or is he a bit close for comfort?" Tom pointed over to them.
"Just keep an eye on it." Fangs shrugged.
Tom was keeping an eye on it, and from the other side of the room, so was Sweet Pea. Despite everything he knew about Sophia, he still had the infatuation he had since he first found out she was his old childhood friend. It was a feeling of familiarity. That's what he had been telling himself. But the jealously that continued to run through him when he saw or heard she was with someone else was beginning to show something different to that.
