The next morning, Sophia woke up to her alarm.
"Mm, turn it off." Sweet Pea groaned. "We have plenty of time."
"One second." Sophia replied.
Sophia😈 : can you bring my jacket to school with you? x
Tommy👻 : sure. cheryl and toni told me why you didnt take it. sneaky bitch haha x
Sophia😈 : what can i say, im a genius haha x
Tommy👻 : how was the date anyway x
Sophia😈 : good thanks. i'll speak to you at school x
Tommy👻 : okay. have fun :) xSophia put her phone on the side before cuddling into Sweet Pea's chest.
"Why don't we skip today?" Sweet Pea ran his fingers through her hair.
"We're not skipping school just because you want to cuddle, Pea." Sophia chuckled.
"Why not? It'll be way more fun." He kissed her forehead.
"Because we have to go to school." Sophia scolded. "How about after school you come to my house for dinner? We can cuddle and watch TV or whatever."
"Is that the compromise?" Sweet Pea asked.
"It is," she nodded. "So?"
"Okay, fine," he sighed.
After a while, they had breakfast and got ready for school. When they got there, the others were in the lounge.
"Here's your jacket, Soph." Tom handed it to her.
"Thanks." She took off Sweet Pea's, giving it back to him before putting on her's.
"So, how was the date?" Cheryl asked.
"You had the date and didn't tell us?!" Betty asked.
"Good choice. We were talking about just happening to be there." Veronica laughed.
"It was great." Sweet Pea pulled Sophia to sit down next to him, his arm around her shoulders.
"You're not going to give any details?" Toni asked.
"What details?" Sophia asked. "We went to Pop's, we went to the Bijou, I stayed at Pea's. That's all that happened."
"Nothing saucy happened?" Asked Kevin.
They both shook their heads.
"You really meant what you said." Archie nodded.
"So, La Bonne Nuit this weekend?" Cheryl suggested.
Everyone voiced their agreement.
"Actually, girls, I was wondering if I could borrow you all." Josie said.
They all gathered together, saying goodbye to the boys. Josie led them all to the music room.
"What do you think that's about?" Moose asked.
"Probably gone to ask about the date. Girls talk." Reggie said.
"There's nothing to tell, really." Sweet Pea said. "Except we both said we like each other."
"That's something to tell." Jughead said.
"Did you really say that?" Chuck asked.
"And did Sophia really say it back?" Tom asked.
"Yes and yes." Sweet Pea said.
"So it most definitely was something then." Kevin said with a sly smile.
"Right." Josie clapped her hands together. "I expect you're wondering why I asked you here."
"Well, yeah, kind of." Toni said.
"As you all know, I regularly perform at La Bonne Nuit, courtesy of our gal Ronnie. But I wanted to do something different. I want all of us to perform together. I know you all have great voices, and I've heard you singing in the bathrooms, Soph. Basically, I know for fact we would all be a power group and we need to do it. So, we've got two days to get a performance together. Cheryl, I'll leave choreography up to you." Josie explained.
"Coolness. I'll get right to it." Cheryl smiled.
"Here are the lyrics and harmonies. I've highlighted each of your parts. I'll send you the backing tracks." Josie said.
"So, what was the reason for this sudden change?" Betty asked.
"Does it matter? I love the idea." Veronica said.
"Thanks, V. But I was just thinking the other day that you all have your beaus to impress. Obviously, Choni impress each other up there. But I thought it would be fun." Josie shrugged.
Cheryl, as always, read between the lines. "You also want to impress someone, don't you?"
"Ooh, now that's a reason." Sophia smirked. "Come on, Josie, tell us all. Is it Reggie?"
"No."
"Chuck?" Toni asked.
"Ooh, a Serpent!" Veronica said.
"Is it Fangs?" Cheryl asked.
"No, it's not Fangs." Josie said.
"So, who?" Betty asked.
"I may have a tiny bit of a thing for Tom?" Josie admitted. The girls mostly replied with an "oh my God" or "oh wow."
"Ew, why?" Was Sophia's response.
"He's really nice. When we had the movie night and the party at yours, he was so lovely to me. And he's really attractive." Josie gushed.
"Gross." Sophia muttered.
"I know he's younger than me but something about him is so mature and manly." Josie said.
"He literally missed the cut off date to be in our year by days. He's practically the same age." Sophia said.
"You're not mad?" Josie asked.
"Why would I be? You're great and he's a big boy so he keeps telling me. He'll make his own decisions no matter my view on them. But this would be one I'm in favour of." Sophia told her with a smile.
"Right, well I'll try and sort some choreography during my free period and lunch. Practice after school?" Cheryl said, and the girls agreed.
During their class together, Sophia grabbed Sweet Pea.
"Sweet, I need to practice after school so I won't be going straight home," she told him. "Go home with Tom, you guys can play video games or whatever and then I'll be back for dinner."
"Okay, that's fine," he said. "What's the practice for?"
"Just practice," she shrugged.
After school the six girls met in the hall.
"Ladies, let's do this." Cheryl said.
The backing track was played, and Cheryl showed the girls the choreography she had come up with so far. They all put their own spin on things, as per usual. After doing it a few times, they stopped to catch their breath.
"Wow, Cheryl. Considering you were told about doing that this morning, this is amazing." Betty said.
"Yeah, Cheryl. You're a genius." Veronica agreed.
