Chapter 16

Jihoo's P.O.V.

I'm done with my work for today. I saw outside but Ella wasn't there. Where is she! I went outside but couldn't find her. It's not a big deal she's not a child. But somehow I'm not feeling good. Let's find her. Seeing her alright can only make my mind at ease.

Ella's P.O.V.

I was playing with the children when I  noticed a child crying by the lake. I went to him hurriedly.

"What happened?" I asked

"My dog! It fell into the water" he sobbed.

I looked at the direction to see a puppy struggling in the water

"Can't your puppy swim?" I panicked.

"It.. it can but maybe it's stuck" he sobbed

"Okay don't cry. Let me see." I said.

What should I do! I can't swim! I thought to myself. I picked up stick and extended towards the puppy but couldn't do any help.

"Maybe your puppy is stuck badly. Hold on. Don't cry! I'll do something."

I looked around to find a rope. I tied one end with the tree and hold other end.

"Don't worry! Now I'll get you out." I said to the puppy.

I went closer and closer to the water along the bank. Oh! How much I'm scared of water! I thought to myself.

"Here, baby try to h...hold ..it.. a bit" I went closer and closer to the water not realising how dangerous this can be. I don't even wanna think about that right now. " A bit... just a ..  bit" it's too slippery! Aish! I should've ask for help. "Here... here.. ahhh!... got youu!" I released him when he swam back. Now I'll have to be careful I can fall anytime.

"Ajumma, be careful." The child said

"Aish! I'm not an ajumma!" I yelled not turning to him. I'm not in a situation to turn as suddenly I understood that it's too much slippery!

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" the child shouted.

Before I could turn I felt the rope get loosen and before I could understand anything I discovered myself in the water.

"Oh my God! What I'm gonna do! I running out of breath! I tried to shout for help but it was a foolish thing to do as I end up with water inside me. I.. I don't know... I'm out of br...eath. I fee..l di..zz..y. My .eye..lids are get..ting.. heav...ier.. I fee..l.. like..... I lost  con...trol ove..r..... me... I'm out .... of.... ener...gy.... It's.... I..t's..... a...ll bl....ac...k....."

Jihoo's P.O.V.

Where is she! I can't find her! Suddenly a feeling of fear took over my mind!

"NOONA! NOONA! " I turned to see jaeho shouting. I ran to him.

"What is it? What happened?" I asked being concerned.

"Noona, fell into water!" He sobbed.

I turned to see someone struggling in the water. My eyes widen to see it's none else but "ELLA!" I shouted.

I jumped into the water. I hold her and pulled her out.

"Ella! Ella!" I shouted.  But no response from her.

I compressed her chest to make her breath. After few tires luckily she coughed.

"Are you okay?" I asked worryingly.

" Yeah." She said sitting up.

Many others have gathered already.

"Why did you go there if you can't swim!" Someone asked from behind.

"I... I di..dn't. The rope got loosen and I fell into water." She replied.

"Ani, that lady untied it." Jaeho said

My eyes widen. "What do you mean? Who untied it?" I frowned.

"That lady. She just came and untied it when noona fell into water." He said.

I looked at everyone cluelessly. Why anyone would do that!

I saw Ella getting colder. So I'll pause it for now. I held her making her to stand. Someone offered towels to us.

"Everyone, get back to work and call it a day when you're finished." I  said. They left.

" Let's go to home. Okay?" I said holding her.

She nodded looking at me. I can clearly see fear in her eyes.

We left for home. I see her shivering.

"Are you feeling cold?" I asked her as I drove the car.

She smiled nervously looking at me. "Aren't we the same? You're also feeling cold." She said

"Maybe there's a difference." I looked at her. "You're scared"

She smiled. " I can't swim. It was a horrible experience. For a moment I thought I'm dead already." She huffed looking down.
"Thank you so much!" She looked at me. "I really mean it. I owe you."

"It's alright. I'm glad that I was there in time. " I said

"I'm glad that you were there." She smiled. "Otherwise.."

I held her hand which made her look at me. Her eyes reflects surprise.
"Don't worry, I won't let you get hurt, ever." I said not knowing what actually I was doing. But right now , I just wanna forget about everything make her feel safe. She smiled nervously.
