{Asher's Pov}It's been a week since the night Ivara and I had the feelings talk. As the physics lecture drawled on, no offence to my teacher who was amazing at teaching the subject but because I was too distracted thinking about Cason.
A few weeks ago Cason was just Cason, but now he was CASON in my head. I don't even know how my liking for Cason has amplified to this extent. Maybe because we meet regularly... Nah, we used to meet before too, yes not as much as we're meeting now but I never felt this way before.
I still doubt my own mind to be sane, it's not like the other crushes I've had, Cason just feels right, so right that it scares me. Not just because I'm afraid of a heartbreak but also cause well our parents aren't that accepting. I actually don't know much about Cason's parents but they don't seem much open too. In my case, my dad and mom will probably have me banished from this town itself...
Besides I don't even know if Cason could like me back, we weren't close when we were friends as well and to be honest, I always thought Josephine and Cason could get together; they seemed perfect together; another reason why I didn't wanna like Cason that way.
Last night, when we met near Cason's house, he invited me to his house. It was the first time I've went to his home.
His two story block was wide with a long lawn stretching in it's front. The blue and white walls seemed to give content vibes and the grass was trimmed really well. Unlike my place where we'd let our lawn turn into a minny wood, Cason's lawn was just covered with plush green grass and two bird baths on either side of the driveway.
His bike and his dad's car were parked in the stony grey driveway. I didn't even know he had a bike. It was an Harley... Huh lucky guy. But as usual Cason was too good at noticing my reaction and informed me that his dad gifted him the harley on his eighteenth birthday, earlier this year.
When we got to his home, only his grandma was present. She greeted me with a kind smile as she sat on a chair as we entered. Cason introduced me as his friend from his previous school as I said an awkward 'hi'. Leave it to my brain to shut down and make me behave awkward in the most neutral situations.
With all the stupid feelings bubbling inside my guts, the level of my awkwardness to meet his grandma had multiplied a hundres times.
Suddenly I was aware of my clothes and zipped up my hoodie which I had carelessly put on while leaving the swimming classes. I had buried my hands in my pockets but took them out to shake his grandma's fragile hands. And boy did they sweat like mad colts after a race.
"Call me Diana" she had said with a kind smile which wasn't as toothy a grin as Cason had, telling me that his grin was definitely inherited from his mom. Why the hell do I care, I thought to myself.
"Asher here, my pleasure to meet you Gran... I mean Diana" I said sheepishly as I took a seat beside her.
"That's fine dear, I'll be glad if you called me Gran, it just makes me feel older which I'm not but I'll make an exception for a gentleman like you." She replied eyeing Cason curiously.
"Umm thanks" I had replied with a small smile, partly for she called me a gentleman while I considered myself nowhere near it and partly cause she allowed me to call her Gran. But with that smile I had also received an proud look from Cason and a gentle hug from Gran.
From what Cason had told me she was about 62 years of age and had been a Geography and English teacher in her younger days. Cason had definitely received her brilliance I thought to myself. I'd met Cason's mom before and knew that he'd got all her god-like features but much of his personality was derived from his dad's side is what I realised.
