Mabel rushed through her routine, brushing her hair and teeth.
Quickly choosing a sweater, light blue with clouds, she slipped on her skirt before shoving her feet into her shoes.
Snatching up her headband, she dashed out if the attic just as Dipper started waking up, yawning widely.
He gave the slowly closing door a confused look, gazed moving to Mabel's bed before he remembered.
"I'm gonna get up early and keep practicing. So if I'm gone before you wake up, I'm just out."
That's what she had said last night before bed.
He groaned, sitting up and getting out of bed. Oh well, he'd see if she wanted to go with him later.
He began his normal routine, brushing his teeth, combing his hair, get dressed and head downstairs.
There he found Grunkle Stan in his chair in the living room, Ford was at the table.
Papers littered it, sprawled with knowledge he barely understood.
"Grunkle Ford, what's all this?"
The older twin looked up, waving to acknowledge his presence before turning back to his papers.
"I've been working out the probability of the shield affecting Mabel when she got more powerful. So far I haven't found it yet, but I'll tell you when I do."
Dipper gave a nod, scooping up the journal from the table and heading back upstairs.
"Alright! I'll be in the room then, want to touch up some notes I took while you had the journals."
Ford waved in acknowledgement, Dipper heading back upstairs to retrieve his notebook and begin.A shot of red fire exploded from her palm, her panting causing soft puffs reddish smoke.
"How was that?"
Bill was silent for a moment, assessing mentally before shrugging.
"It was okay, better than last time."
A big smile spread on Mabel's face before she leaped up.
"Woo-hoo! What's next?"
Silence again as he thought before taking his human form.
"You've taken to your magic really well, let's see if you can keep it up."
Mabel gave a big smile as Bill raised a hand.
"Let's teleport. Focus on the place you want to go before activating it. Try going to the tree over there."
He featured to the tall one, where her bag was leaning.
She narrowed her eyes, turning and focusing on it. Then she snapped.
Red flashed around her and suddenly, she tripped over her bag.
"I did it!"
She shrieked with glee, happy she'd achieved it so easily before teleporting back to Bill.
She'd learn to do it faster eventually, just not for a bit.
Bill actually smiled.
"Good! Now do it again until you're able to do it just by thinking of the tree."
She nodded, turning her focus back to the tree and teleported once more.
Over and over, for hours but she still couldn't do it on instinct.
She finally stopped, panting heavily before taking a seat.
It was only noon, the high sun making her grab her bag and pull out her lunch.
Bill took a seat beside her as she began to eat.
"You've gotten the hang of your powers pretty well, considering you've only been working a couple days."
Mabel swallowed her bite, wiping her mouth before giving him a big smile.
"It's because I have such an amazing teacher!"
He quickly changed shapes, easily hiding his face that heated up quickly. It only made her laugh, shaking her head.
For a moment they sat in silence, Mabel finishing her sandwich before looking to him once more.
"...How am I your reincarnated Queen?"
He was silent, taking his human form once more.
"...we were tricked."
She packed her container back in her back, looking at him as he spoke.
"We were asked to find a code for a safe but we had limited time, the man who's mind we would retrieve it from was going to be assassinated at a certain time. They hired a man to summon us then kill the man, so we didn't figure out the plan was to kill us as well."
Mabel's eyes widened as she listened.
"They..."
Bill nodded his head.
"Mabeline fell into the collapsing dream where it swallowed her up and took her life. She said she would return and I've been waiting for so long and then I met you. I figured it out because you have the same personality, the same spirit waves, and you took to your magic so easily because you've had it before."
He finally looked to her.
"That's how you're my reincarnated Queen."
She was astonished, staring at him before looking to the ground.
"...what would my shape be if I accepted my demon queen status?"
He smiled to her.
"A star was hers, your symbol seems to be a shooting star but I think it would stay a star."
She nodded silently, trying to figure out other things before she gave a sigh.
"Well anyways, we should go back to training. Come on! You wanted your snowglobe by tonight right?"
She snickered when the word snowglobe seemed to irritate him.
"It's not a snowglobe! Whatever! Just-"
He groaned, shaking his head as he got to his feet.
"Try going further with your teleportation."The sun was beginning to set by the time she was able to do it, instinct alone.
She teleported across the clearing before teleporting back and did a twirl, smile upon her face.
"Ta-da! Now I'll go get the thing for you!"
She smiled before dashing off towards the shack. He waited, trying not to be impatient.
When she reached the shack she got through the shield easily, seemed like it still viewed her as human. Ford was at the table, papers strewn around, Dipper across from him. Both seemed completely engrossed in their work.
Carefully she headed for the stairs, out of eyesight and focused on the basement, the control panels that were everywhere. Suddenly she was there, peering around before she dashed to the shelves.
Where would it be? She had no clue, lifting books, moving posters, she couldn't find it.
Groaning in frustration she took a seat in the chair where she noticed a handle on the little metal wall.
Curious, she grabbed pulling before realizing it pushed up.
Then she gasped. There it was!
She quickly grabbed it, blinking back to the clearing straight out of the basement.
Breathless, handed it to Bill.
"Found it! Right?"
He patted her head, nodding as he turned away.
"I'm sorry, Mabel."
And he chunked it to the ground.
