Mabel fell back once more, all three of the others exhausted. They'd been trying to pull her through the shield for half an hour now with no luck.
She didn't know what to do except stay outside.
"I can't go in..."
Dipper walked down the porch, stopping in front of her and held out a hand.
"Then we stay out together."
She was startled, everything in her wanted to shove him back into the shield but one piece was happy.
He wanted to stay with her.
A smile spread on her face before she accepted his hand.
Pulling her to his feet, she hugged him tightly, shaking her head.
"We need to come up with a plan."
Wendy raised a hand.
"What if we got everyone to come outside?"
Dipper shook his head.
"It's too dangerous, Mabel wouldn't be able to protect everyone if they did."
Mabel crossed her arms, frustrated. She couldn't think of anything, sighing softly.
"Okay. Well, one thing we know is we need to get to Bill but we don't have anyway to do it. Who all is in the shack?"
Dipper tapped his chin.
"Let's see...some of the creatures from the forest, Pacifica, Candy and Grenda, Grunkle Stan, various other people."
Mabel slowly grinned, rubbing her hands together.
"Is Old Man McGucket in there?"
Dipper was confused, nodding.
"Yeah he is why?"
"I have an idea, get him to come outside."
Wendy went up the stairs, Soos following.
A few moments later, McGucket came outside confused.
"You wanna take the battle to him? How are you gonna do that?"
She snickered.
"We take the shack with us! He can't get past the shield so if we turn it -"
"Into a giant robot, we can take the shield with us! Mabel Pines you're a genius!"
McGucket slapped his knees.
"I've never made a robot that wasn't evil but it sounds like a plan!"
Mabel clapped excitedly.
"Since I can't go inside, I'll keep watch out here. Dipper, you and McGucket organize how to get it done! Grunkle Stan won't like it but we don't have a choice!"
She stomped the dirt, her excitement growing. She was completely unaware of the group that had begun gathering on the porch, her excitement blocking it all out.
"We're taking down that demon! And we'll do it the Pines Way! Tomorrow, we take back our town!"
A loud cheer rose from the porch, startling her before a large smile grew on her face.
"Then we better get to work!"
McGucket clapped his hands together before quickly heading inside.
Dipper looked to his overly excited sister and gave her a hug.
"Be careful sis, we don't know how often those things come by."
She gave a smile.
"No worries, as long as I have yarn, I'll be fine! I'll make everyone end of the world sweaters!"
She was mostly scared of dying from boredom than being attacked.
Then she remembered something, watching Dipper head inside.
"Bill had said Madeline's symbol might be a start still... I wonder if I could summon her through me?"
She took a seat, jumping upon hearing her name called and turning.
Pacifica had come outside, bag of yarn in hand.
"Hey, Dipper asked me to bring this to you for him."
"Oh, thanks Pacifica."
She accepted the bag, setting it beside her before looking to the retreating Northwest.
"Hey, I have a question."
Pacifica stopped, looking to her.
"Yeah?"
Mabel nodded.
"Later, could you help me with something?"
The blonde was silent for a second before shrugging.
"Yeah sure, I suppose couldn't hurt anything."
The twin gave a smile.
"Thanks Pac! It means a lot."
Pacifica actually gave a small smile before heading back inside to help with the construction.
Mabel turned to her yarn, picking up the almost finished sweater and began working.
It usually cleared her mind, helped her think better.
She needed to figure things out.
Like, was Madeline's star like a pentagram or the end of her symbol? She felt the line less one made more sense.
If she made the pentagram, would her shooting star stay on the edge or would it be replaced with something else?
No, it'd probably stay on the edge, her and Mabeline were desperate people.
She finished the last stitch, folding it and gently setting it on a patch of grass by her.
Soos gets a question mark sweater, naturally.
She picked up the green yarn, creating the starting loop before going back to her train of thought.
Would the chant stay the same, or would it change? She felt it would probably change seeing as she were summoning a demon, just through herself was all it was.
The soft clink of her needles definitely cleared her mind out, it's what she loved about knitting.
Now that she had most of it figured out, she'd get Pacifica to help her with it later.
Only one thing to hope for; it didn't fail.
