Dipper had reached the mall, finding it empty and falling apart. It partly frightened him but he needed to keep going, Mabel needed him to keep going.
His stomach grumbled, pulling him from his mind state as he groaned softly.
"Might wanna see if the food court has anything..."
He had no clue how long it'd been except a good amount of time since he had set out.
He headed for the food court, looking over counters and into cabinets when something caught his eye.
A bowl of nachos sat on a prep table, already made.
He'd consider it suspicious but his stomach grumbled once more, an automatic deeming it safe and he grabbed it.
He immediately regretted it as something socked him in the head, making him dizzy and stumble back.
"Who's there?!"
Shaking his head, he looked around before hr noticed her.
"Wendy?"
He saw her, looking through a door in the back, a smile crossing her face.
"What's up Dipper? You lost?"
He shook his head, setting the nachos down once more and moving to her.
"I suppose I kinda am, I'm looking for Mabel. She vanished a bit before everything started, I've been trying to find her."
"Huh, must be kinda hard. Come on, I'll get you something to eat then I'll help."
She disappeared back into the back of the place, Dipper following her. He was lead into what looked like a makeshift room, fashioned from the pantry.
"Here, it's just some left over bat meat but it should help."
"Bat meat? Thanks."
He hadn't tried it before, taking it and biting into it. Not bad.
"So have you figured out where to start looking?"
Dipper nodded, finishing his bite before replying.
"Yeah, I was gonna look here but I don't see her. I'll have to look somewhere else."
"Well what if we went through the town? We're bound to find something linking to her then."
Dipper nodded, finishing his bit of meat.
"Yeah, we should do that. You sure you can help?"
Wendy waved a hand at him.
"Psh, yeah! I'm not doing anything anyways! Let's go find Mabel!"
She got to her feet, Dipper getting to his and both heading out the back door.
They were greeted once more by the chaos that reigned the town.
For a second Dipper stopped but he kept on, both heading for the street when he noticed it.
"Hey... What's that?"
His gaze had caught a large, almost red bubble that floated between the two cliffs, chains wrapped around it tightly with the shooting start symbol embellished on it.
"I think that's Mabel, he already got her."
"Then let's go save your sister!"
A grin crossed his face, matching hers before they took off. They needed a ride, it'd take forever to get there otherwise.
"Let's get a ride, we should be able to get there faster."
Of course, they wouldn't be able to get there quietly and peacefully. Time to make a run for it.Mabel had woken up ages ago, frustrated at how stupid she'd been.
"I trusted him."
She was practicing, letting her anger fuel her energy and ability to control her flames.
"I made a deal."
She punched the air, flames billowing around it before she whirled, kicking the air. Flames spiraled.
"He said I was his queen."
Her first met the wall, exploding it with flames.
It crumbled down, revealing the citizens of her bubble town.
She'd made the one rule change, only she was allowed to think about reality. No one else.
"Mabel? It's break time."
She paused, panting softly as she looked at her dream boys from the thing she loved.
"...okay, I suppose you're right."
She took a seat at her desk, sighing softly, a ball of flame circling her hand.
"Has anything changed?"
The two shook their heads, just as the door burst open.
"Mabel!! Are you okay?!"
"Stop! You're not supposed -"
She leaped to her feet when she saw them, a smile crossing her face.
"Dipper! Wendy and Soos too!"
Dashing to them, she hugged each tightly.
"Oh my god you gotta tell me, how's it look outside?"
Wendy and Soos looked at each other, Dipper gave a sigh, wringing his hands together.
"It's not good, Bills taken over. Mabel... did you do it?"
Mabel wrung her own hands together, nervousness taking over.
"...Yes, I... I did."
All three were astonished when she admitted it.
"But why?"
Dipper was confused, reaching to her before hesitating.
"Because...I was going to lose you. I didn't want to grow up alone. So I panicked and did the first thing I could think of. I made a deal with Bill."
All four went silent before she sighed once more.
"I'm sorry I just... I just wanna fix this. And I have an idea of how."
A grin crossed Dipper's face, an identical one soon crossing Mabel's.
"Then let's take down that demon."
He put out his hands, Mabel running into them as tears ran down her face when she hugged him tightly.
"We'll do it as twins! Because we're forever twins!"
