Tomorrow.
No,it was no longer tomorrow.
Today.
And they would be leaving fairly soon.
However Mabel hadn't packed anything, she and Ford were already at the bus stop.
It was there Dipper met up with them.
He'd packed her things too, him and Stan bringing both cases to the stop.
And Mabel was sobbing, sitting and hugging her knees tightly.
At first Dipper assumed it was because they were leaving.
"Mabel, you have to."
"I-I-"
She struggled to her feet, tear stained face looking towards him before she broke down once more.
"Mabes, what's wrong? We'll be able to come back sometime."
She shook her head, accepting the hugging he offered tightly.
"I-I can't-"
He was so confused.
"Of course you can-"
"No!"
She let him go, hands on his shoulders and looked him straight in the face.
"I-I can't leave. My demon status won't let me go past the barrier."
Fresh tears began to fall once more, biting her lip to keep from crying before he hugged her once more.
"Then I'm not leaving either."
Mabel sobbed, clinging to her twin brother as he gave a big smile.
"You're my sister, and I can't protect you if I left. So I'm staying right here."
They let each other go, looking to their twin grunkles.
"If...that's...okay, I mean..."
There was a moment of silence, Ford looked to Stan who gave a shrug and grinned.
"We wouldn't have it any other way!"
Both shrieked with excitement, hugging each other out of pure joy.
All that trouble, and she wasn't losing her brother anyways.
"I can't believe I sold out Gravity Falls to keep from losing you and I'm not anyways!"
Mabel laughed between tears, letting him go and wiping away her tears.
"Good news is, you can take Ford's apprenticeship now!"
Dipper suddenly grew excited, practically screaming.
"OH MY GOD I CAN!!"
Nothing made Mabel laugh harder, doublig in a fit that left her coughing.
"Good god! Calm down!"
She giggled, glancing to their twin grunkles who looked over back. Had they been discussing something?
Must've from the fact they didn't seem to know what was happening.
"Come on, kids. We have to get arrangements made and settled."
Dipper headed over, but Mabel didn't move yet, her gaze locked in way direction.
What did she see?
She wasn't sure but she...welcomed it.
"Mabes come on!"
She snapped back to reality, smile spreading on her face before she quickly jogged to catch up.
"Coming!"

A giggle left her lips, one that brought a smile to his own face.
But that wasn't enough to cover his own despair in what he'd done. He'd seen her gaze looking towards him, not one filled with hate, but it wasn't friendly either. It was...confused, like she didn't know what to do.
He could hear them talking, something about school.
After a moment, he floated after, keeping up with a conversation he didn't understand.
Then, Dipper went on ahead into the shack.
Both bags had been taken by him and his twin sat on the stairs.
He slowly floated down, crossing his legs as he looked towards her.
"How are you doing Shooting-"
He paused, not sure if he could use her real name.
"Star?"
It wasn't like he expected an answer.
"I'm alright...just confused is all."
He was startled, having not expected her to answer.
"...it'll be alright. I...won't let anything happen to you."
"Promise?"
She looked to him and he slowly smiled reassuringly.
"Promise with all my heart."
She smiled in return, looking back down the road that lead to the shack.
He followed her gaze, his own landing on the bright blue sky, almost cloudless and perfect.
"We'll meet again..."
He immediately looked to her, not startled, surprised.
"Don't know where..."
"Don't know when..."
"But I know we'll meet again..."
"Some sunny...day..."
She lifted a hand, wiping her eyes before a smile once more crossed her face.
"You'll never leave will you?"
He shook his head, gaze moving back to the blue sky.
"Never, everything I've ever wanted is here."
Neither said a word, they didn't have to.
She didn't, not at first. But eventually she opened her mouth once more.
"I can't fully trust you...not after the first time I did...I'm sorry."
While he had known that was coming, it still hurt to hear it, causing a slight flinch at the words.
"I know...I messed up beyond repair. I...just want you to know I'm sorry..."
She was silent, and he returned it. Then she spoke once more.
"I know. You only wanted to protect me. It's alright. I'm sorry but...she's gone..."
Both seemed to hurt when she said it, Bill taking a deep breath and closing his eyes.
Then he gave a long exhale, opening them.
"I know, and...it's time I showed my love...by letting her go."
A tear slid down her face, but it matched the smile on her face.
"We forgive you."
A wave of sorrow flooded him before he turned, wrapping both arms around her and pulling her into a hug.
"Mabeline, rest in peace my love. From now, I'll watch over you, Mabel Pines."
