...

Cas's anxiety was growing worse and worse, and he was beginning to become paranoid about Dean. What if we won't always be best friends? Does he like Benny more than me? Why is Dean even friends with me at all? He laid awake in bed as the thoughts filled his mind.

Cas knew he was letting his anxiety get the best of him but he couldn't help it. He decided to call Dean this time. "Cas? It's two in the morning what do you want?"

"I'm so sorry, Dean. I just needed to know can you spend the night tomorrow night? It's really important."

"Cas, you called me at two AM to ask my if I can spend the night? My lord, Castiel."

"I'm sorry."

"Ugh, yes Cas I can. I will see you in the morning. Goodnight."

"Goodnight." Cas hung up the phone and quickly fell asleep.

...

When Cas got in Dean's car the next morning, he did not seem happy. "So what was that all about last night, huh?" Dean's tone only made Cas's anxiety worse. "I'm sorry, I was just really anxious and—''

"Ya, well you're always freaking anxious," Dean said, cutting him off. Cas didn't even know how to respond to that. So, he just sat there quietly, trying not to cry. "Cas, dammit, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that. Listen, tonight's gonna be great, okay? We'll talk things over, just like we always do." Cas nodded as a single tear rolled down his cheek.

"Fuck, Cas. Please stop, you know I hate it when you cry."

"You hate it when I do anything," Cas mumbled.

"Castiel, stop! Come on, I don't want to start the day like this. It's gonna be a great day, so quit it. Don't worry it'll all work out." Cas wanted to believe Dean, but he didn't know what was going on. Dean had never acted like this before. Was it something he had done? Something he said?
