It was five in the afternoon when Bella and Charlie got back. They said they went to the park to let little Johnny ride his new red bike but surely Bella could have done that with Nathan. I had an early night just because I didn't feel like eating tea and I was quite upset that he had left me all on my own- yet again. The door creaked open and I quickly switched sides- I didn't want to look or talk to Charlie. 'Did you have a good day?' He got into bed but I ignored his question. 'I know you're awake.' There was a moment of silence as he shook me, 'Mia!' I grunted and slapped his hands on my arm. 'Are you angry?!' 'Yes I'm bloody angry!' I snapped back, 'You left me for Bella- AGAIN!' 'Mia, Bella's my best friend.' 'But she has a husband. She could have done it with Nathan. You can't always be with her, I need you here by my side.' I paused, 'What if your Dad starts asking me questions and I end up spilling my beans. I'll have no one to save me if I give the wrong information.' I sat up and rested my back against the wall and he copied me. There was silence in the room. A couple of minutes had passed and we still hadn't spoken to each other. He broke the silence, 'Don't bother asking me who I'd chose because we both know who the answer to that question is.' A tear rolled down my cheek, I knew exactly who he was referring to- Bella. 'Right..' I wiped the tear on my face, 'Well in that case, my job here is done.'
