"Here, try this."
Hoseok's soft lips those were slightly parted, now got a piece of meat in front of them. The delicous looking piece was held by chopsticks, and the one holding the chopsticks, was Yoongi.
"Say 'ahh'."
"What the fuckㅡ" Hoseok cursed out loud, just to feel the small piece of meat being stuffed into his mouth as he spoke.
It was really awkward to feel the wooden chopsticks inside his mouth, since Hoseok had just a moment ago seen Yoongi eat ramen with them.
But he couldn't lie though, after chewing on the meat for good, few seconds, he had fallen in love with it. There was some kind of BBQ sauce on top of the meat, and it tasted like heaven.
He couldn't be sure if it was only because he was really hungry, but it still tasted amazing. His whole emotionless expression lit up, there was no way of hiding it.
"So, how was it?" Yoongi asked with a sly smile, resting his head on his hand.
"It.. Was really good. But for fuck's sake I can feed myself!"
Unexpectedly, the whole feasting crew slowly began to find topics to talk about, and Hoseok actually didn't hate chatting with them after all. He sure was being careful with his answers, and did not respond if the question wasn't directly made to him.
Some part of him was enjoying the moment, but it was hard for Hoseok to admit it. After all, they were just a bunch of strangers... Who bought him food for free just to hang out with him.
He really needed to make sure he would thank Jin from the bottom of his heart. It had been so long since he had felt this good while eating.
The food itself was delicous, and the fact that he actually got to eat until his stomach felt full made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
Usually he'd have to drink at least three glasses of water after having his so called 'meal', so his stomach wouldn't start aching again.
Other than having an actually good lunch, Hoseok also got to know a lot about the newbies. Even though he himself didn't talk much, they did.
For an example, Namjoon had told Hoseok that the six of them moved in this city not too long ago, and that's why they came to T.A.N. High in the middle of the school year.
What Hoseok didn't expect to hear, was that the reason they had to move was because they got expelled from the school they were in before. What a pain in the ass it must have been...
"So, how long have you been living here?"
Jimin was looking at Hoseok, who had been silently listening to the story of the six of them getting kicked out of school.
Hoseok's face turned pale. Out of all the topics, why did it have to be this one? He really didn't want to think of how five years ago he packed all of his few belongings, and left the house he used to live in. He didn't want to remember how he cried in the streets, not knowing what to do.
But he also didn't want to be too rude. Jin had bought him food after all.
"Five years."
His answer was cold, but at least it was the truth. All he hoped for was any other topic to talk about. He didn't want to embarass himself by crying in front of them.
"You must know this place well then. Could you show us around some time?" Namjoon asked.
As Namjoon spoke, Hoseok couldn't help but to stare at his deep dimples those kept on appearing on the sides of his mouth.
But... Show them around? Heck, he barely knew how to go to this small shop near the school. He didn't get out of his apartment if he really didn't have to, and if he went to wander around to look for places to work at, for an example, he'd always get lost faster than a little kid in a store.
"Actually..." Hoseok started, swinging his head to the side to face the window next to their table. Once his eyes met the yard that opened behind the window screen, he suddenly was reminded of something; his bag was still at school.
His eyes flashed wide open and his head flinched. It wasn't much past midday, but he should have remembered, it was supposed to rain today around one o'clock, in the afternoon.
And it sure was going to rain. He quickly checked the sky, which no longer was this charming deep blue as it had been when he had walked to school. Many dark clouds had gathered up in the sky, and it seemed like more was coming ahead.
Hoseok stood up from his seat in panic. His heart was beating fast, and no matter how many times Jin said his name, "Hoseok? Hey, Hoseok?", he didn't seem to find the right words to explain the situation.
So, instead of telling the boys about his bag that he had forgotten, he let panic take over his body. "Thank you... Uh... Thank you for the meal. I'm sorry, but I really have to go."
With that, Hoseok left the building. For the third time, he ran away from the six students. And for the third time, it was none of their fault.
