It had started to rain.
And so, without any more made up excuses, Jungkook and the other five students had sticked with Hoseok and gone to get his bag.
Oh how embarassed was Hoseok going to be once he would have to admit that he didn't have an umbrella after all. Well, maybe a little lie like 'I guess I forgot to bring it to school today' would do for now.
That wasn't the only thing that made Hoseok super anxious right now. The others had only four umbrellas in total with them, and surprisingly, Jungkook was one of the wise ones to carry his around.
Jin was pretty well prepared, and had two umbrellas with him. Namjoon also had his own, which he ended up sharing with Jimin.
It was actually funny for Hoseok to see the tall male next to Jimin, who now looked even shorter than usually.
But as you can probably guess, Hoseok ended up sharing an umbrella too. He did suggest that he would just run back to the school, but none of the boys were having it.
So there he was, pressed against Taehyung's arm, trying not to get too close to the taller boy, while also avoiding to get soaked by the rain that was getting even worse.
The umbrella Jin had given for Taehyung to use wasn't that big, but somehow he and Hoseok were both able to fit under it. Even though Hoseok was cursing quietly after almost every step he took.
It was uncomfortable.
Jungkook was proudly walking with his own blue umbrella protecting him from the weather, and Jin was kind enough to share his with Yoongi, who kept on complaining about getting pushed to the side by Jin's wide shoulders.
Luckily, there was only about five minutes left of walking in the rain, before the students would be back at T.A.N. High.
"Fuck.." Hoseok hissed, almost bumping into Taehyung's side once again. He was avoiding eye contact with Taehyung at all cost, sharing an umbrella like a damn couple was already embarassing enough.
"What are you so nervous about? You're literally shaking" Taehyung asked, looking down to Hoseok's messy yet fluffy hair. No answer could be heard.
Taehyung sighed.
Hoseok, who was staring at the ground so he wouldn't have to look at Taehyung, soon felt a hand grab his waist and pull him closer to the male next to him.
It was almost painful how Hoseok's waist was burning under Taehyung's touch. Even his cheeks lit up, and before he could say anything, Taehyung had already spoken up with his deep voice. "Now you won't get all soaked~"
With a grin on his face, Taehyung remained on walking like nothing had happened.
"Hold upー Let go of me!!"
Hoseok pushed himself away, almost falling to the wet ground once he got out of Taehyung's hands. His legs were wobbly, and it took some time to catch his balance.
"You perv" Yoongi mumbled, glaring at Taehyung
The grin on Taehyung's face got even wider, as he spoke with such an innocent tone; "What? I was just trying to help~"
Hoseok didn't even bother to look at Taehyung, and only told him to walk faster. "...And keep your hands off of me if you don't wanna die."
Silence took over the street the boys were walking on, and soon the only sounds they could hear were the drumming of big raindrops showering every surface they could land on. It looked like the rain wasn't going to stop anywhere soon.
The sky was getting even darker, and it sent shivers down Hoseok's spine. All he wanted to do was to run back home and hide under a blanket...
Luckily, the trip back to school was coming to an end. The school building was already visible, and Hoseok was so ready to bid goodbyes to the six troublemakers he was with and run to get his bag. But that wouldn't work out well, right?
"Hey, Hoseok!" he heard Jin call his name. Turning his head to see Jin next to Yoongi, Hoseok mumbled tiredly. "Yeah? What is it?"
"Do you know why umbrellas are called umbrellas?"
"Oh no, I sense a dad joke coming ahead" Yoongi groaned, pulling out a finger gun and acting like he had just shot himself in the head. As if he already didn't remind Hoseok of a ghost because of his pale skin, now he was looking like an actual zombie.
A handsome one though.
Jin didn't mind Yoongi's uninterested state, and continued on telling his joke. "It's because the person who named the umbrella meant to call it brella, but they hesitated."
"What the hell Jin, that's so dumb!!" Taehyung complained. "It's likeㅡ Wait, Hoseok, are you laughing?"
With his hand covering his mouth, Hoseok tried to stop his light giggles. "Y-Yeah!! It's so dumb that it's funny!"
