"Why are you so kind?"

At first, Jin didn't give Hoseok any kind of reaction. He coolly flipped off a cap of a sweet looking drink, and placed it on the table, next to two other opened bottles.

He looked back at the ravenette standing on the other side of the kitchen, and suddenly raised his eyebrows at the boy.

"Eh? You asked from me?" he questioned, pointing at himself with his index finger.

"Of course..." Hoseok murmured quietly.

Jin blinked his eyes in confusion. He leaned against the kitchen counter, somehow looking very comedic in that posture.

"Why am I so kind? What do you mean by that? You're our guest, am I supposed to be kicking your butt?" he asked with his eyes wide open. "Unless you're into that..."

Hoseok's face lit up with embarassment, and his voice became shaky as he yelled; "S-Shut up!!"

The response to that was Jin's loud laughter, which reminded him of the sound windshield wipers make. Between the high pitched chuckles, there was parts of apologies about making such a lewd joke.

For now Hoseok let it be. All he wanted was an asnwer to his question.

"For real now" Jin wiped away the tears of joy those had started to form on corners of his eyes, "you're asking me why I'm so kind?"

Hoseok nodded.

"I'm just doing what any sane human being would do. I think you have heard about it, but we didn't get along well with the people at our last school. Since things turned out like this, I think it's a great opportunity for us to start with you ー get to know you and stuff."

Jin had turned away to reach for a metallic box that had the words 'cocoa powder' written all over it. This boy really was making hot cocoa for Hoseok.

He then grabbed a spoon and a coffee cup, and carefully measured one and a half spoonfuls of the powder to the cup.

While looking for a pan to boil the milk with, he continued on the onesided conversation with Hoseok. "So, I really don't see what's there to ask."

"Well, to be honest" he started again, expecting the ravenette to stay silent as usually he would, "I'm curious about what kind of a person you are. I've been dealing with many strange guys, but you're almost like two, completely different souls stuffed into one body."

"One minute you're cold and distant, the next you're stuttering like a little baby."

Hoseok almost felt a bit offended by the fact that this childish, maybe just playful, pink haired male had figured out so much. It was like he knew Hoseok better than he knew himself, even though he had been with his soulless reflection since day one, and Kim Seokjin, was still just a stranger to him.

"Ah, and you get scared by everything..." Jin added, stirring the milk he had already poured on the pan.

He switched on the heat, and waited for the liquid to get all bubbly and start boiling. Now he had some free time to face the ravenette, who had not moved even an inch.

"Did I talk too much? Sorry..."

For a moment, Jin's bright eyes made contact with Hoseok's, what a beautiful moment was it. No matter how ironic the other had sounded while talking, no matter how many times he chuckled at his own words, it was still the eyes those told Hoseok the truth.

Jin was a good person, he meant the kind things he said, joked about the bad ones.

"No, it's allright... I... Nevermind..."

Hoseok walked out of the kitchen, every step he took feeling only heavier than the previous one. Why was he there ー surrounded by truly great people?

He heard Jin say something after he had left, but the words weren't loud enough to reach his ears. Only the faint sound of chattering ringed in his head, that was starting to feel as heavy as his unsure steps.

Back in the livingroom with everyone else, excluding Jin of course. No-one really noticed that he was back, before he threw himself on the couch where Jungkook was cozily laying

Maybe 'threw himself' gives a more energetic view of what Hoseok did, so let's replace that with something else...

In it's all glory, Hoseok crashed on the couch, making the brunette haired boy slightly flinch on the other side.

"Are you allright?" Taehyung asked, eyeing the situation from the other couch while cuddling a bright blue pillow Hoseok had seen before laying lonely on the couch.

"I just don't get it..." Hoseok mumbled under his breath, looking away from all the five pairs of eyes those were focused on his pathetic self.

"Come again?" Jungkook tried to ask, ironically being the closest one to Hoseok at the moment, but still not being able to hear what the latter had said.

After a quick glance at the boy who had spoken, Hoseok nodded to himself and said that he had said nothing, and that everything was allright. What a way to answer ー he lied about everything.

"It'sー Ahh!!"

Without thinking of it, Hoseok had started to talk again, but he cut off his own sentence with a loud yelp. His voice came out somehow raspy, so it was nothing to compare to the high-note like screams the others had already heard at school for example.

For a short moment Hoseok had been staring at nothing particular, but if only he had known what he was about to witness, he would have rather looked at Jungkook or Taehyung and hell, even chatted with them no matter how akward it would have been.

Because at least, it wouldn't have been a shirtless, wet-haired Park Jimin he was staring at.
