It was a very odd scene,

two grown up boys laying on a bed in a small room, not having any kind of a past together. Just two almost strangers living like lovers for as long as this moment would last.

Jung Hoseok and Kim Taehyung ー just like in a show, the other was an actor and the other was the audience.

And right now, Hoseok was letting Taehyung see what was going on behind the scenes.

It felt like Hoseok was both, the director and the actor, giving himself the pressure to perform right and not have any other choice than play the role he was supposed to.

But like there is an ending to every story, like every light burns out some day, Hoseok was so close to let himself have a break.

A break from talking with words those disgusted him, acting like he didn't care, hiding behind someone he hated ー himself.

'Hoseok, get yourself together.'

"It was nothing. Just a bad dream. I tend to have them when I'm sick" Hoseok talked with the most tired voice Taehyung had heard for a long time.

Every word sounded like it was burning Hoseok's throat.

"Go away, you'll get sick."

No, that wasn't what Hoseok wanted to say, neither was it even anything close to what he wanted in general. But the words 'don't leave me' just didn't sound right.

Jung Hoseok was a character from a show, a cold hearted boy with no interest in anything else than getting to his dream academy. Those kind of words wouldn't suit him at all.

Hoseok was playing the role of that boy, so neither should he say something so dumb.

"What if I wanna get sick?"

No matter what, this stupid grin on Taehyung's face wouldn't go away. It never disappeared, like it was painted on his face.

Was it a mask too? No way, it felt too pure...

"If I'd get sick, I wouldn't have to go to school" Taehyung laughed quietly, rolling over to lay on his back. "I mean, I don't like school, so even if I wasn't sick, I still wouldn't go."

"Then just don't go, it's none of my business."

Finally, Hoseok could move his body, and he had turned around to face the wall. Gosh, he was so done for...

"Taehyung where the fuck are you?? Where have you put my charger!?"

It was a good and a bad timing at the same time for Jungkook to be looking for his charger that Taehyung had borrowed yesterday.

The latter sighed loudly, getting up from the bed. He looked back at Hoseok, just to see nothing but the back of his head peaking under the blanket.

"I'll get going, don't hestitate to come talk if you'd like to" he told the ravenette, already pressing down the door's handle to leave the room.

Not really even expecting to get a respond out of the other, Taehyung switched the lights off without even thinking of it, and opened the door. He was about to step outside and go find Jungkook's charger, but his legs wouldn't move.

Not even an inch, not after hearing a loud gasp behind him; "Don't!"

"Don't touch the lights! Just let them be. I'm not gonna sleep anymore!"

The amount of panic in Hoseok's voice was insane, yet the boy himself showed no reaction at all. He still layed there, buried in his blanket like a little kid.

"...Allright? You sure you're fine?"

Again, no answer. Taehyung decided it was best for him to leave Hoseok be for now, and so he turned the lights back on and closed the guest room's door after hurrying outside.

"What was that all about?"

He lifted his head up to see the brunette in front of him giving him a weird look.

"Look Jungkook, now is not the best time for this."

The two of them looked at each other, Taehyung looking very bothered and uncomfortable, while Jungkook was just confused.

"Well, whatever you say. You have my word, just give me my charger now you robber!"

"Calling me a robber? Take a look at yourself!"

Trust, that's what Jungkook had for his old friend. If he didn't talk about something now, and it was important, he knew he would bring it up later.

And laughter, that's what Hoseok heard through the door that was now fully closed. Even though the lights were on, after he had once again broken his character by yelling after Taehyung, he was still left in the dark.

He was scared, scared of the feelings he had been introduced to once hearing Taehyung speak to him so softly. Seeing him be so kind. Feeling him have skinship so gently.

He was scared of it all. Scared of not knowing what to do if he kept on feeling like letting his guard down. He had promised to be strong, but now he was about to break that promise.

And he was scared, because it was all new.
