Chapter 18

~*Malani*~

   "Hey Khalil." I said sitting down in front of him.

   "Why did you call me here so early? Is there something you have to tell me?"

I sat back and looked in his eyes. Those eyes used to make me want him but not anymore.

   "We can't be together."

   "I don't understand Lani."

   "Don't call me Lani anymore Detective Holmes."

   "What is going on with you?"

   "I should be getting out in two to three months and I have to be prepared. I have to let go of the past and think about my future."

   "Stop talking in code and just get to the point." Khalil said slowly.

He was mad but this was best for the both of us.

   "The same way I cheated on my husband with you. . . I cheated on you with somebody else."

   "How? I'm the only one that visits you!"

   "Don't raise your voice at me because I'm not raising mine at you. Calm down and hear me out."

   "Well speak bitch."

   "Such language but its whatever. I just want to get rid of you. I don't like you anymore and you can't control your temper. I've been watching you and I noticed that you like to have things your way. You like to control people but I won't be one of your robots. I have my own mind and its telling me to leave you the fuck alone because you ain't no good."

   "You two timing ass bitch!"

Khalil jumped over the table and started choking me. I couldn't breathe but I didn't fight back. If it was my time to die then so be it. I was ready to see my daddy again anyway.

I was getting dizzy but I stared Khalil in the eyes as he tried to take my life. I could see the satisfaction in his eyes of taking my life and it bothered me. This was the man that I thought I could replace Zay with? This was the man that had me feeling some type of way and willing to destroy my marriage for? I couldn't believe how stupid I was.

My eyes were getting low but I could see Logan come over and punch Khalil in the face. Khalil was still focused on taking my life but Logan eventually pulled his tazer out and put it to Khalil neck. Khalil got to shaking and his grip loosened. I took a deep breath and Khalil finally dropped to the floor.

   "Damn." I said with a raspy voice while rubbing my neck.

Another gaurd came over and cuffed Khalil while Logan came to my side.

   "I told you not to meet with him. You sure you want your other visitor to come?"

   "Yes Logan. Bring them in now."

The other gaurd took Khalil away as Logan went to get my other visitor. I was nervous but I was ready. I wanted to make everything clear now because I wanted to spend my last months alone.

   "Why now?"

I took a deep breath and looked at Jade. I didn't even know she came in.

   "I wanted to talk about some things. Is that the baby?" I asked pointing to the car seat that sat on the table.

   "Don't act dumb Lani because you know damn well thats Jaden."

   "When he get out?"

   "Damn you making it sound like my baby was locked up in here with you."
