SEPTEMBER 2018.

as usual, alex was in her own world. everyone seemed to be reading and having their own time, so no one came up to sign their books out yet.

as she waited, she was reading a book about teen drama, reflecting back into her teen years.

she had earbuds in her ears, listening to some acoustic tunes. she knew she shouldn't be doing it, but no one was signing out their books so, why not?

alex lets out a deep sigh, as she takes another look around the library.

"i should be getting paid more for sitting around."

she averts her attention back to her book, completely oblivious of the person walking up to the counter.

suddenly, the book gets pulled out of her hand. she looks up, only to meet a pair of dark, and cold eyes.

the person had a mask on, and their bangs covered a bit of their eyes.

alex clears her throat, sitting up. taking her earbuds out, she felt slightly intimidated by his stare as she hesitated.

"s-sorry about that.." she muttered, slowly taking the book, and scanning it. she checked the screen, and saw that it was a piano book.

she felt something weird, but quickly shook it away as she gave the book back to the boy in front of her.

"you know when to return it, right?" she asks casually, and the boy pauses before nodding slowly.

he then walked away, alex's eyes following him as he disappeared from her sight, probably walking out the doors about now.

alex leaned back onto her chair, frowning slightly.

"piano..."

~

almost immediately as she entered, she heard the beautiful sounds of a piano being played as she entered the piano shop.

it was a small shop, mainly for customers who were pianists.
hence, the name, "home of the pianists".

she bowed to the cashier behind the counter, and looked around the shop.

it looked different from how it looked when she first moved to seoul. it was renovated, and everything was more organized. it probably had a new owner, too.

as she was looking around, she came across a lonely, wooden piano resting by another display of piano books.

alex stood still, as she studied the appearance. memories of the past came running to her, a small smile coming up to her lips.

she pushed those thoughts away as soon as they entered, and continued walking around the shop. suddenly, the sound of piano playing erupted in the store, making alex turn to the direction of the piano.

the woman who previously stood behind the counter began playing a piece, the song sounding happy and comforting.

in awe, alex watches the woman playing, slowly starting to get a feeling of nostalgia once again.
