OCTOBER 2018.

(play media)

feeling sad and defeated, alex approaches her house, sniffling and crying silently.

she didn't want to lose yoongi again. but this time, the circumstances were different. leaving yoongi alone while he's going through a tough time would be too much to bear.

she couldn't lose him, not like this.

"j-jungkook?"

alex calls out his name in slight disbelief when she recognizes him still sitting in front of alex's house.

jungkook sees the tears in her eyes, standing up quickly and rushing over to her.

"alex! what happened? are you okay? what's going on-"

he suddenly stops questioning her, as she suddenly sobs into his chest. he stays silent, pulling her closer.

he doesn't know what happened, but he knew it was about the man he saw earlier.

the man she chased after.

the thought brings him to pull away, while still holding her. he studies her face, bringing his hand up to wipe her tears away gently.

"wanna talk about it?"

she sighs, leaning into his touch.

"can you just...hold me? just for now."

her voice came out weak and soft. jungkook gives in, holding her closer to him.

he had so many questions going on in his mind. who was that guy she was running after? was he someone special to her? more special than him? why did she come home crying?

jungkook wanted answers. but right now, he wanted to make alex feel safe.

after some long moments, alex begins to calm down. pulling away from the hug slowly, jungkook cups her cheeks.

he stares into her puffy eyes, wiping her tears with his thumb. alex releases a sigh, avoiding eye contact with him.

"i'm sorry you had to see me like this, jungkook." she whispers. jungkook gives her a small smile, shaking his head. "it's okay, i'm here for you." he speaks softly.

alex finally meets his eyes, realizing what he was doing. she places her hands on jungkook's, removing his hands from her face.

"sorry, um-" she clears her throat awkwardly, walking away from him. jungkook's eyebrows form a frown, as his back faces her.

"that boy...does he mean a lot to you?" his voice was gentle, although his jaw was clenched. he tried not to let his feelings get the best of him.

"he does, but-"

"does he mean more than me?"

jungkook cuts her off, turning around to face her. alex notices the look in his eyes, and immediately, she knew how hurt he was.

"jungkook..."

she speaks his name softly, walking towards him. however, he steps back slightly.

"no, it's okay. i understand. at least now i know that," he pauses, a fake smile spreading onto his lips."you're in love with someone, and that someone isn't me."

his dark eyes stared deeply into hers with so much hurt, that alex wished she did feel the same way he did. unfortunately, she didn't and he didn't want her to force herself.

alex reaches out for his hand. "jungkook, i'm so sorry. i never meant to hurt you like this, you're such a good friend-"

jungkook bitterly chuckles, pushing her hand away. a tear rolls down his cheek, as alex looked at him with pity.

"a friend, that's all i'll ever be." he mutters, cutting her off once again. "the thing is, alex...."

their eyes meet again, but this time, both of them had tears in their eyes.

"i can't be friends with someone i'm in love with."

_

his mind was all over the place.

yoongi strode around the streets like a madman, as he felt as if he was going to lose his mind. people walked by him, giving him looks of bewilderment.

"fuck!" he cries out, pulling onto his hair. he stops in his tracks, as he crouches down to the ground with his head in his arms.

this feeling was overwhelming; he hasn't felt this way for anyone. he wasn't exactly sure what if it was what he thought it was, it was love.

alex.

the girl he grew fond of as a child. that little girl that brought the light onto his face during a dark childhood.

he could never forgive himself for leaving her without saying goodbye that day. it felt almost as if he was undeserving of her when she came back into his life again, but he wanted to fix everything.

start again.
but it's too late.

yoongi stands up from his crouching position, looking around him. his eyes fixate on a neon sign across from him.

'WILDIN' the sign read. a popular bar in town, one that yoongi always passed by, but never went to as he was always one to smoke up a cigarette, instead of taking shots every once in a while.

however sometimes, one shot wouldn't hurt...right?
