Your POV

You stretched your arms out sleepily as you sat up in your bed. It was Saturday morning, which meant you had the day to yourself. The rest of the week had dragged. Classes were pretty dull and you hadn't really spoken or seen Remus. A part of you was scared that he'd been avoiding you.

'Morning (Y/N)' Lily said as she skipped over to her bed. Since you'd started this year, Lily had been a lot more chatty with you. It gave you hope that you might leave this year with a friend.

'Morning. Did you go down for breakfast?' You asked. Lily shook her head and sat down on the edge of your bed.

'No, I just went down in the common room to see James and Sirius.' She explained 'They had some sort of falling out with Remus the other night.'

Your heart skipped a beat at the mention of Remus's name 'Oh really? Why?'

'Sirius said something about you and Remus stormed off. I don't think he's really spoken to either of them since.' Lily explained. You tried desperately to keep your facial expression neutral.

'Oh' is all you managed to say. Lily smirked playfully at you and you instantly began to feel your cheeks redden.

'It sounds like Remus was jealous.' Lily said. Your insides fizzed at the thought of Remus being jealous because of you. It felt strange, that anyone would have any sort of emotion over you. You were so used to not being noticed at all.

'I doubt it. I'm sure he was just being polite and didn't want to join in with what Sirius was saying.' You explained. Lily nodded and rolled her eyes, clearly unconvinced.

'Well, we're going to hang out by the lake later. If would be nice to see you down there.' Lily said.

'I was just going to hang out here for a while. This week has defeated me.' You explained. Lily frowned slightly before she got up from the bed.

'Okay, well I'll see you later' She said, promptly leaving the room. You took a deep breath and sunk your head into your pillow.

Remus's POV

I trailed behind Lily, James and Sirius as they ran across the grass by the lake. Usually, I adored being out here. Sitting under our tree, looking out at the lake but today, I didn't. I just wanted to be on my own.

'Come on Moony!' James said as he they all reached the tree. I began to pick up the pace as I watched them all slump down on the grass.

'You're not still in a mood about the other night, are you?' Sirius said. Lil smacked Sirius across the arm and he gaped at her.

'I just don't feel like I want to be out here today.' I explained. Lily smiled kindly at me and got up from her position in the grass.

'It's okay, you don't have to stay here if you don't want to.' She said 'I'll sort these two out for you.' I smiled slightly and nodded at Lily.

'Thank you.' I said. Just as I was about to turn and leave, I noticed Sirius get up from the floor as well.

'I was only playing around the other night, Remus.' Sirius said timidly.

'I know. I'll see you later.' I said. Sirius looked at me in bewilderment for a few moments. I could tell from the look on his face he wanted to say something else, but he didn't.

After a few moments of just staring at each other, I turned around and headed back to the castle. Somehow hoping that I would bump into (Y/N).
