Remus's POV
Resting my chin on my hand, I gazed out of the window wishing I was anywhere but in this classroom. It was Wednesday afternoon and the week had gone painfully slow thus far. I still hadn't recovered from my recent change and I hadn't seen (Y/N) since I left her by the lake, which made my general mood worse.
'Remus.' I snapped out of my daydream and looked round to see Sirius staring at me 'Are you listening? Because I'm going to need your help with this homework.'
I nodded despite not having heard a word the Professor had said. Sirius beamed as he scooped his books off the desk and got up from his chair.
'Now we're free for the rest of the day.' Sirius said as he skipped out of the classroom. I sluggishly walked behind him, my eyes scanning the students bustling up and down the hall.
'Sirius.' I said, stopping in the middle of the hallway 'I'm going to the library.'
Sirius stared blankly at me for a few moments, before he stepped forward and grabbed my shoulders 'Come on Remus, let's go out and do something in the grounds.'
I shook my head and Sirius's expression dropped 'I wanted to start on the homework. It wouldn't hurt for you to join me. You never go in the library.' Sirius laughed and shook his head.
'And I never will. Why don't we go for lunch instead then?' He said. I nodded, hoping I'd be able to see (Y/N).
'Excellent, no doubt we'll meet James down there as well.' He said as he hooked his arm around my shoulder and led me down the corridor.
Your POV
You leisurely moved your food around your plate, not wanting to eat anything else. You'd been sat down for a least twenty minutes and had only had two forkfuls of your lunch. You hadn't been able to function probably since Remus had walked away from you by the lake. You had made your best efforts to avoid him since then, you couldn't deal with the humiliation of seeing him again. But you couldn't stop thinking about him.
'You not hungry?' Lily said. You shook your head and smiled at her. Lily had also chosen not to talk about what had happened with Remus. You knew she'd seen him since then, but she hadn't mentioned him.
'I'll finish it for you.' James said. You laughed and pushed your plate over to James.
'That's disgusting.' Lily said 'Haven't you eaten enough?' James chuckled and shook his head as he picked up his fork. He was about to take a mouthful when something caught his eye across the hall.
'Sirius and Remus incoming.' He said. You and Lily both looked over and you instantly saw Remus gradually making his way over to the Gryffindor table.
Your eyes followed him as he got closer to you and your heart pounded with every step closer he took. He then looked up and his eyes met yours. You smiled slightly as he continued to stare at you.
You felt as though time had stopped as the two of you looked at each other. You felt like the room had evaporated around you and it was only the two of you. Then he broke the gaze and sat down in a seat further down the table from you. You quickly were thrown back down to earth and the reality of Remus not being interested anymore.
You looked over to James, who smiled at you and you could tell he felt sorry for you. You wanted to just disappear again, never have you ever felt so humiliated.
'I'm going to go and see them.' James said, before he quickly got up and practically ran off.
'Just forget about Remus.' Lily said. You instantly glared around at her.
'You've changed your tune. You were practically begging me to talk to him. Now you want me to leave him alone' You snapped. Lily gaped at you as you shot up from your seat and left the hall. Maybe, it was better to be alone after all.
